What about training camp as well? Going to feel weird. Like looking at NYC skyline after 9/11. You can't believe it's not there. - boonerbuck
training camp isnt `14-28 days like it used to be
but even more important, who is it that henrik endorses as captain role? Probably THE most important decision for the ongoing future of the team. When you think of it there is no other answer than horvat |

Progress has been made.
Benning for the win, who was I agreeing with about the twins leaving making us worst.
They said this year bottom 5, next year 5 to 10.
Looks like we're a year ahead of the curve. |

Toronto made significant jump, Edmonton, Columbus.
Colorado doubled their points from the previous season.
It's not unheard of. Only problem with all those teams was Toronto got a true #1 center. Edmonton got a generational forward. Columbus got enough high picks to become good.
Colorado has a 50 point D man. |

All true.
I think we are not a PO team next year maybe 20 OA the year after possibly a sniff of the WC in a few seasons. Too many intangibles with Demko, Pettersson and Gaudette. Clear Gaudette needs to work on his skating at this level in the off season...no Boeser effect here. See how the draft treats us this year and if JB goes after Tavares.
EDM will be back in the PO's next year that you can take to the bank. They will make the necessary changes to make it happen.
CLB is a good team but probably one and done this PO's.
TO is a shutdown pair of Dmen away from going deep...until then they are still in playoff trouble. Anderson's numbers are below .900 now...not a goof time for that to happen for them.
Colorado was a nice turn around to see but they were fairly deep already...don't see that happening here. |

I agree. It would be something those teams did at the TDL, depending on their position in the playoff race. - Codes1087
The other is by leveraging their cap space like Vegas did last summer. We’ll help you, the Canucks can say, but you are going to help us. Two calls I’d be making would be to Chicago and Ottawa. Could the Canucks pitch taking some or all of Marian Hossa’s cap hit and/or Bobby Ryan’s contract, as long as the Blackhawks and Senators make it worth their while? (Ryan would have some control over his destination.)
Entering Wednesday’s games, Edmonton had 127 points from defencemen, 27th in the NHL. (Nashville is best, at 195.) That is something the Oilers will address in the off-season. It’s a priority. (Van had 122 points)

Looking at the standings our late season surge cost us a top 3 pick but we are the hottest team, unbeaten in regulation in 6. Looking forward to watching the team carry that momentum over to next season. 10 of a possible 12 points, if it was October and I had a digital blackface on, I'd be talking about playoffs
Speaking of that, we blew away or record from last season and are okn the upswing, now that we're not held back by the twins, nothing cam stop us.
But the sad truth is if we don't replace their production were looking at a bottom 3 finish. |

Need to score 20 more goals but give up 60 less. 60 points from EP, 30 from Gaudette. Granlund goes back to 30 points. - manvanfan

Playoffs!!! - Marwood
After inexplicably trading Paul Stastny to the Jets at the trade deadline, the St. Louis Blues missed the playoffs by one point. Their fans should be absolutely furious and their GM should be immediately fired, due to the fact that he is a disgrace to the NHL.
It would be hard for me to imagine that every player on the Blues roster isn't completely disgusted with their management right now. To trade one of your best players for a draft pick when you're in the hunt for a playoff spot is, if nothing else, a complete breach of trust.
Pretty sure the NYR were only a couple points out of a playoff spot when they said they were tanking to the fans.
Double standards everywhere. |

Tavares, Carlson, E. Kane, Petersson, Dahlen, Lind, Joulevi, this drafts 1st round pick.
It's pretty obvious the Canucks are cup favourites for next season.
I have a list, too. |

I will repeat what has been posted 100 times in here Eriksson is buy out proof. You are better off sending him to Utica and save 1 mil |

Also, I don't care to buyout Eriksson. I'd like to give him someone to play with and not have him be in a shutdown role. |

I don't know where we will land next year seeing I don't know what the roster looks like ?
If we have Dahlin Pettersson Tavares Cole Bellows acquisitions in the summer then I like the chances better than Megna Chaput Bouchard and Sautner.

Big forward is one of the premier scorers in the United States Development Team. A big bodied, fluid skating attacker who is apt at carrying on zone entries, finding time and space while carrying having a good wall presence, and creatively generating offense to his teammates. Is able to all three forward position (although he hasn't been asked to play in the pivot position) and is very comfortable as an off-handed wing, as well as a right winger or at centre. Has shown high end shooting ability and has the goals to prove it. Slips into the soft areas and gets the one-timers, and has a really fine trigger, whether it is from the periphery, or when he is given looks in closer to use his wrist shot. His speed and shot are usually the first two mentions he gets, but his vision, and creativity rank high, despite his shoot-first mentality at the amateur level. Has been on the radar as a top U.S prospect for some time, so with that has been many views and scouts tend to see him as an established “reliable” prospect, not some new best thing, so he may last a bit longer than expected if teams don’t see him as a top scoring centre prospect. I see him as an NHL left winger who provides two way play starting in your top six with decent upside towards a team's top six.

It won't be hard, he will only need to stop 8 out of every 10 shots to beat Nilly out of the job... |
