For sure, and that’s ok this draft as after Svech and Zadina the most appealing players are D - CanuckDon

Not worried about them being a championship team just yet, rather, a youthful fun to watch team who’s learning at the nhl level.
With a sprinkle of veterans (Edler, Sutter, Eriksson, MDZ, Gagner) I think they’ll be fine as a young team. |

Pretty much. The notion we don’t need any vets is insane. Would be a disaster and bad for development imo |

I agree. But only 1 or 2 short term stopgaps and guys who can handle playing neutral/tough minutes and don’t need to be gifted easy minutes to play well.
The team still has vets. Edler, Tanev, Del Zotto, Gudbranson, Biega on defense. Eriksson, Gagner, Sutter, etc up front. Bo is already considered a team leader as well.
I really hope they resist the urge to splurge on another big LE type UFA contract. |

I think last night when, Im not sure whether it was Danny or Hank, who said ''5 Years ago we would have said no to staying in hockey, but now Maybe consider a role in some smaller capacity.'' (Paraphrasing)
Which to me would be ideal. Something small to keep him around for the younger Swedes coming in, which dont kid yourself would be HUGE for their development. This Team starting from Gradin on down has an incredibly strong swedish culture, and I have a feeling the Sedins want to be a part of that growth, like Nazzy was for him.
Moving that far away from your family and everything you know at a young age can be tough on kids, Gotta make sure Dhalen and Petterson are surrounded with experience in all the aspects of transitioning into the nhl, conditioning, conduct I could go on and on.
And to be able to pick the minds of players like them going forward, arguably the two most unique minds in the history of hockey. That is a tremendous advantage to have and to not make use of it would be incredibly wasteful.

I would rather see Granlund in a 3rd line role, better defensively and forchecks harder. Though both so far are made of glass. |

I dont mind Granlund, as he os a versatile player, just think we have several similar players and he might get us the better pick in a trade. |

Nucker made a good point about the Nucks travel schedule being brutal this year/in general. Could be contributing to the injury problems. - Mordecai
I think a stronger offence will reduce some injuries. Not always defending and shot blocking will take some of the sting out the injury report.

Alex Edler remains the only Gillis contract left and Benning apparently loves him.
This is pretty much 100% a Benning team next year. - Nucker101

Tanev? - VANTEL
Benning gave him that "prove it" contract and then he proved it, so Benning signed him to the contract he has now. |

I’m hopeful they don’t go sign a couple older free agents, it’s time to see what some kids can do at he nhl level, which I’m extremely excited about!! - LeftCoaster
I don't mind if they bring back Jokinen , if he doesn't work out waive him. He filled some holes as a utility player.
I am also okay if they take a run at Tavares I don't mind one significant signing but am also okay if they don't |

Jokinen is too slow and had 5 goals this year, hard pass. |
