I don't know much about Wahlstrom but I keep seeing him climb in the ratings and from where we are drafting I think it is possible. Everything I have read on him is very positive . I almost think he is under the radar - VANTEL
Draft sites have him as LW but eliteprosp had him as a C/RW. |

Not gonna lie, I haven't seen him play at all. But he does sound intriguing. Hopefully some full shifts videos come up on youtube closer to the draft. |

The USNDP has done well for awhile now.
Press on them usually says not much but its a mistake to not pick them. I like him but we need D still hence a trade is needed for another 1st hopefully. Wahlstrom as BPA then makes more sense vs picking need. - Nighthawk
I probably have more trust in the D than most on here. I think Edler will still be around for 4 years and I think Stecher will be reliable. Sautner showed he can step in at the pro level and not leave a big hole. And yes I like Biega. I think upgrade one player at a time. We also still have Tanev and EG signed and they are the first two I would look at upgrading. |

EP Tavares Boeser
Kovalchuk Bo Goldy
Dahlen Gaudette Jake
Archie Sutter Lipstick
Motte Granlund - VANTEL
I like what I've read about Wahlstrom, seems like he's floating under the radar a bit. I would be happy if he was chosen, regardless of need.
But since he's committed to Harvard next year, I have fixed your lineup |

Hughes is probably the best pure skater around, but I'd take Boqvist all day every day.
Better defensively, can rip the puck and remains one of the better skaters of the draft as well. The fact that he's already 'considered' on par with Hughes skill level while being 11 months younger is encouraging. - Whiskey-Tango
Question - have you seen Boqvist play? |

Between Dobson/Wahlstrom/Boqvist I don't really think there is a BPA currently. Things can change. I do see Dobson/Boqvist starting to drop in some Mocks though, I wonder if They could drop to where we can trade Tanev to get one of them. Tanev to NYI for 10OA. |

He apparently has some slickness & smart.
Puts up the points. I see him as a 2C. |

He also gets to play with a generational talent Jack Hughes.

If Tavares walks, I doubt NYI is trading either of their picks. |

They could tell him they have a trade for Tanev in place and look to sign him before doing it. Pull the trigger if he does, walk away if he doesn't. |

He can play all three positions but is mainly a LW . I will re-post his drafting report
Big forward is one of the premier scorers in the United States Development Team. A big bodied, fluid skating attacker who is apt at carrying on zone entries, finding time and space while carrying having a good wall presence, and creatively generating offense to his teammates. Is able to all three forward position (although he hasn't been asked to play in the pivot position) and is very comfortable as an off-handed wing, as well as a right winger or at centre. Has shown high end shooting ability and has the goals to prove it. Slips into the soft areas and gets the one-timers, and has a really fine trigger, whether it is from the periphery, or when he is given looks in closer to use his wrist shot. His speed and shot are usually the first two mentions he gets, but his vision, and creativity rank high, despite his shoot-first mentality at the amateur level. Has been on the radar as a top U.S prospect for some time, so with that has been many views and scouts tend to see him as an established “reliable” prospect, not some new best thing, so he may last a bit longer than expected if teams don’t see him as a top scoring centre prospect. I see him as an NHL left winger who provides two way play starting in your top six with decent upside towards a team's top six. |

I totally agree. Add 1 good key player a year. If more then its a fastrak to the PO’s. As a team the new gen need to find an identity as a group. |

If Tanev has that kind of influence, lets sign Tavares ourselves |

they have a lot of money coming off of the books this year, but then Matthews/Marner contracts are up after next season so they could sign a guy like Kovy to a big 1 year deal to replace JVR if he's interested. |

I haven’t watched him either and that’s why I don’t trust him yet. His lack of production scares me but that’s mainly stat watching as I’ve been limited to YouTube clips as he is hard to view. Looking forward to seeing him at the U18’s. |

Erik Brannstrom 15OA to Vegas last season. Smaller, not as quick supposedly and his shot isn't as good as Boqvist. Similar point totals in draft year. Brannstrom had a pretty good year in the SHL in his draft +1 |

It makes no sense to me why TO would let JVR and his 36 goals walk away |

same here
usually the top prospects all have some good youtube clips posted by the start of June where you can watch every full shift of the player in 3-5 full games. Obviously still a small sample size, but a good way to get a read on the style the player plays and what he's good/bad at. |

don't want to pay him big money for 6-7 years. I'm sure they've approached him about a shorter deal and JVR's camp probably said no. |
