I never saw a crappy attitude from him at all?? don't know where that is coming from
- hehateme

For me, it's this new claim that his effort was bad.

I thought even the people who don't like him or wanted to trade him would agree that his effort was always good. The dude is hounding the opposition all game for turnovers. He never lets someone break out of the zone without getting a piece of the puck to break it up, or at least forces them into a quicker play.

The effort thing is nonsense imo

61% of his points came in wins or overtime losses but he only plays when we're down 3 goals

"Hes a quitter!" "He only plays when we're losing!"

those contradict eachother so hard i cant even comprehend how you can make both points at the same time

The discussion on here from December until eichel got hurt was about RoRs lack of effort

ROR is a fine player, slow, but can still score on a crappy team. He put up 60+ points on a team that was HORRIBLE... keep all of that in perspective please. This team needs a massive overhaul, but ROR is not the problem...
- hehateme

His productivity is fine. Best faceoff man, possibly ever.

His weak as$, cliché-ridden, never-wearing-the-C-on-this-team, Debbie-downer bull cr@p attitude needs to go. Or change in a big way. He's no leader on a team that desperately needs a few. That's on him, not the fact that they constantly lose. Mf'er, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

stop

if anything you should be mad at him for being a frontrunner since the majority of his points came in games the sabres at least got 1 point in, when that happened rarely

I just have never seen it. I watched maybe 60 games this year and never once have I seen that.

I understand the 5-on-5 argument, or the playing time thing to some extent, but effort, no

You cut the cord with guys with zero value and bloated salaries. You don't do that with top 6 NHLers with a lot of value.
- TheSabresTaco

Hopefully JBotts can trade them all out. That's what I prefer.

I also prefer not having Top 6 NHLers with bad attitudes in the locker room.

scoring 60 points while taking almost every defensive zone faceoff is pretty good though.

i dont even know why i bother responding. ror is good. he is a problem if his contract prevents you from adding a winger. if thats the case then lets get rid of him.

moving him for a defenseman bcuz cultre!!! is how you trade an MVP candidate for adam larsson

- robz228

Let's not be dramatic. Like I've said all along, if he doesn't fit what you want for your team (on ice and off ice) [Kane] you trade them for short and long term assets. Half the problem and maybe more than half is the culture of this team. You hear it literally all of the time. They don't care if they lose. Why the (frank) do you want players who don't care if they lose? The culture is a real thing.

i understand this but people are interpreting this so backwards in my opinion

he said he lost his love of the game because of all the losing. i dont see how that makes him okay with losing.

if you dont like his interview answers thats not a reason to trade him.

People just get mad because he is not a take over the game player making 7.5 Large a year. ROR is a secondary player #2 center, best face off guy in the NHL. he is good for 60-65 points a game. If we get some better talent, I can see him in the 70's for points. Why there is so much hate on that guy is beyond me.

here's why I'm hard on him. He was brought in to be a leader for the long term. Captain material. And now he says (and even showed it) that he lost his passion. I get it. I really do. Losing is painful. I'm as competitive as it gets and as I've gotten older I've learned to reel in the passion. But I'm not being paid millions to help lead a young team. He simply can't do that. Look at Eichel's answers vs ROR's.

He's held to a higher regard than most on this team, and should be. As far as I'm concerned, he has let us down with his leadership expectations.

Paul Hamilton has referenced it every year, multiple times per year how his effort has been wildly inconsistent

just because we think he should be a leader, don't make him one. maybe he will never be a leader. that is not a reason to run him out of town.

Then how does he have so many takeaways with no penalties. He quite literally never takes a lazy penalty

Literally, this season and last, the Sabres beat reporter has blasted him for turning it up when the team is already down by multiple goals.

And I don't consider his secondary PP assist's playing well in 1 goal games or wins.

You people love to use basic point totals as the crux for every argument, then pile on people for cherry picking. It's unreal
