here's why I'm hard on him. He was brought in to be a leader for the long term. Captain material. And now he says (and even showed it) that he lost his passion. I get it. I really do. Losing is painful. I'm as competitive as it gets and as I've gotten older I've learned to reel in the passion. But I'm not being paid millions to help lead a young team. He simply can't do that. Look at Eichel's answers vs ROR's.

He's held to a higher regard than most on this team, and should be. As far as I'm concerned, he has let us down with his leadership expectations.

Literally, this season and last, the Sabres beat reporter has blasted him for turning it up when the team is already down by multiple goals.

And I don't consider his secondary PP assist's playing well in 1 goal games or wins.

You people love to use basic point totals as the crux for every argument, then pile on people for cherry picking. It's unreal

alright in a bit ill go through the 36 points in OTL and wins and remove secondary assists and see where we're at

the beat reporter confuses effort with the other team parking the bus which is understandable

ROR had the same number of 5v5 assists as Pominville. Like leadership aside, he's just not worth anywhere near what he's being paid.

Believe me, there's a lot bigger problems than ROR's ability and point totals, as you've outlined. But his attitude is the type of attitude fit for a 31st place team. And THAT is what needs to change if this team is going to actually be something worth watching.

This is all moot as most have pointed out I doubt Botts actually moves him


But they have to move someone imo if they want to get something of major value in return.

whether it's ROR, Risto, Reinhart doesn't matter. The same core responsible for the first 31st place finish in NHL history, cannot come back as exactly the same the next year.

Who are the quitters? Despite his points ROR is front and center with me. I hear about players who quit, but no one can define who is actually quitting.
