Okposo i think can bounce back if healthy to be a 20+ goal scorer
If Sam stays on RORs wing, then you’d assume that Okposo is playing with Eichel next year
I don’t like his contract,
but playing with Jack all year i could see him being a legit scorer like he was with Tavares
- jdfitz77
I kind of like Okposo with Jack, but he really deserves better, and there's obviously reasons they haven't played more together.
Almost half of Kyle's points came on the PP. If a prospect doesn't bump him off next season, it's a terrible sign.
He could easily play better next year, and produce less. That might actually be a good thing. I hate paying a 3rd liner that money, but it's only for 5 more seasons....

Homer hope mixed with some beer , a noxious fart , and tired. And we are already better by subtraction of contracts. See JD 's post below . |

Most would agree the core is incomplete and that we need to keep adding to it. I struggle to understand how a team can add legitimate core players without doing one of three things:
1) drafting high for a while
2) trading a boatload of prospects
3) trading current core players who haven't pulled their weight for core players who may be a better fit
We botched #1 by getting less value out of those picks than we should have
#2 got TM fired - Sabresfan-365
There’s also free agency
But just to play it out with you...
1) if we get Dahlin,
I’m happy with the defense going forward
If we don’t get him, then idk what to do?
I guess the hope would be that they could be collectively good, like Vegas this year and Pitt without Letang
2) at forward, I like:
Eichel(1C), O’Reilly(2C), Reinhart(RW2), Mittelstadt(3C)
I think Okposo can bounce back if he plays with Jack, or at least be a good RW3 with Mittelstadt
So for the top9, we need all 3 LWs and a RW1
We do have a lot of guys coming up
I know many think guys like Bailey, Baptiste, Smith, E Rod, etc etc are only 3rd line quality- and that may be true
But the hope would be that they can gel with one of our established Centers & be part of a unit that works
For example:
Crosby doesn’t play with “top line” wingers
But the guys are good enough that the line works well as a whole
And look to the KHL
Nikita Gusev is the best player in the world not in the NHL (yes, better than Kovalchuk and Dahlin)... and he plays LW
He’s not gonna sign with Vegas after they screwed over Shipachyov (his KHL teammate)
So maybe that could be a way we get Jack a legit winger?
It would at least be worth contacting them about
He is signed for 1 more season in Russia though
Also, UFAs can be signed to fill in winger spots in the top9
We’d have to overpay, so it’s not ideal
But it is a way to fill some holes if the kids don’t develop
We do have so many coming though,
that hopefully (at least) a few will end up being productive for us |

I dont have high expectations for my team. All, not some , of Klefbom, Seleras and Lucic need to have good , not just ok, seasons, plus no bad injuries or off yeats for the Oil to return to the playoffs. |

so 18.5%, hope okposo can get better with age and nikita gusev might choose to leave russia for buffalo (not like we were a great experience for antipin)
OR
we can move ROR or Ristolainen for player(s) that are a better fit moving forward
Idk, I like option B but im an idiot |

But aren't you one of the main ones harping about how Murray got rid of the picks that could've been Boeser, Beauvillier, White, Konecny, etc...? They weren't high picks.
