Kids that will become top 4 and all have top 2 potential change a franchise. Dahlin would have an immediate impact and would change the franchise for the next 15 years easy. - Retinalz
Dahlin, I don't doubt but past that who really knows how D turn out. OJ at 5, top 2. Looks more like top 4. Could name all the good and bad of drafting top 10 D. To say franchise changing to anyone but Dahlin is a stretch.
To think Boqvist turns into Karlsson.
Dobson a Brent burns
Hughes into Tory krug
Bouchard into Carlson
Ty Smith into somebody good
Those D don't come around often especially all in the same draft. |

So your saying adding a top 4 Dman to a team that only really have 2 top4 consistant dman is not franchise changing? Most of out dmen looked like 5-7 and a couple occasionally had a game where the looked top 4. Edler and Tanev were the only two thaty were consistantly playing like top 4 dmen. i would say Edler looked like a #3 and Tanev either a 2 or 3 depending on the night and his partner. OJ I see as a future #3 or #2 dman who could surprise to be a #1, but likely not. |

.@MikeZanier on Pettersson: In both series, he's started a little bit slow..but it seems he's picked up his pace. They tried to intimidate him and he never said a word. It took him about a game and a half and he got to that next level. He adapts #canucks |

Johnson on Dahlen: He'll be coming in tomorrow from Sweden. This is a huge step, I want to get him into some games and see where he's at at this level. We have to do right by the player and proceed from there #canucks @UticaComets |

outside of 1st, this draft is weak in some eyes i have have read, so with that said maybe trading back from 8th or so might be a play to increase depth.
in recent drafts good players have fallen and will continue too , so trading for more chances may be more beneficial then in other years.
the best d the nucks ever had was constructed on 2nd or later picks and opportune trades and free-agency so the high d picks are not the magic potion to success |

Who is saying they turn into that? I am saying that are all looking like future top 4 and all have top 2 potential. Those are franchise changing projections. Most teams don't have 4 top 4 dmen. |

Almost every draft they say that. Even the ones they say are strong outside the 1st end up being similar to every other draft outside the 1st. Weren't the last two drafts both considered weak? |

you are saying the opposite but the same , in that every weak draft is hyped also and it is time as the only differing opinion in the end .
a hypothetical option ,we are offered Shea Theodore , a second and a condition pick next year for our 9th pick , do you take it?
and the 2016 had Matthews and Laine so no thats not a weak draft |

2016 was considered weak after them.
Shea has looked good, but no, I do not do that as I think at 9 Dobson or Boqvist will be better players than Shae is. |

as much as i like shea theodore dropping from top 10 down to 58th is wayyyy too far for this club to do. id be tempted to somehow ask for their 2019 first as i suspect a back to earth season next year but i doubt theyd want it |

but you are not counting the 2 other picks in my proposal which could be the difference makers, my point is the scouting has to be ahead of the curve and if they believe its a better trade then make it |

Someone in Canucks Army has Hughes going as high as 2oa. Dobson in Top 6. Figures Hughes will jump to NHL (most ready) as early as late next season. Dobson 2 to 3 years and Bouchard 3 to 4 years away from being ready. Aside from a Top 3 selection, would the Canucks most likely take a d-man you figure? - Eldebrink
That would be JD Burke, he is worse than I am at predicting draft order and I am terrible. |

Quality vs quantity wins. Our top 9 D pick is better. Just because there are good players outside the 1st, doesn't mean they are any less a long shot than any other year |
