While cryin' Ryan was looking for excuses again, Eichel served up an example to emulate for next year in McKinnon. His team now. No question. And cryin' knows it, so he's trying to orchestrate his removal. Good luck to the next team that gets him. I guess they'll be so much better with all the faceoffs they'll win. - Khmylev
wow...nice vitriol |

I'm starting to think that it is NO coincidence that ever since we got ROR, our room has been fractured, fragile, and just plain bad. He has to be a part of that, no? He's 27, on his second team after crying his way out of Colorado (due to too much competition to be "the man"), and regarded as a top- flight player/ leader. I think the curtain has been drawn on him. He won that one faceoff though, remember? It was awesome! - Khmylev
do you mean the same team that went from 57 points to 81 points when he led them in scoring? |

Botterill knows leadership, and Gionta wanted to come back.
Botts didn't want him. That says a lot - jcragcrumple
Gionta not resigning was tankarific |

He must have loved the game then. It's so hard to keep up that pace of game lovin'. |

and the fracturing in the room actually was attributed to Eichel (although not expressly mentioned) and others (skunk) not wanting to play bylsma's system |

Mittlestadt probably doesn't have his first goal puck because O'reilly took it due to it being his record faceoff winning puck. |

They started the year with Seth Griffith and Matt Moulson instead of resigning their captain. Mtl let him walk as captain. He was severely overrated as a leader of men. Botts knew it |

20 year old kids shouldn't be fracturing a locker room with established vets (ROR) who are sold as good leaders. He's a fraud. Jack grew up, ROR lost the lovin' feeling. He's gotta go now. I like him as a player but his "leadership' is completely questionable and I don't think he can take a back seat. he's going to have problems wherever he goes. |

dude...why on earth would a rebuilding team need two players well into their thirties playing a bottom-six role at right wing?
c'mon |

Because he was still a better scoring option than Griffith and Gionta had decent speed. Botts is all about culture. If Gionta was a great leader/culture guy, why wasn't he brought back? The only answer is that he wasn't actually a leader |

We even got a "baby antics" post the other day. Which I disagree with. |

He is now (seemingly). I know what ROR is/isn't. I highly doubt he can ride shotgun with Jack in charge. Maybe they'll do a faceoff challenge to see who gets the "C". Jack will get kicked out, and ROR will win when jack's super winger girgensons comes in for the draw. |

There is a private meeting with Botterill, Housley, ROR, Eichel and Okposo happening in the next day or so. Also hearing ROR with Botterill. |

no...it wasn't...third line rw pommer and his $5m+ salary bumped third-line rw Gionta out...
I could almost guarantee that if pommer wasn't on the team, Gionta would've been back...probably not as a captain, but as a viable, veteran third-line winger who could still produce |
