What is the relationship between Babcock and Kadri? Kadri seems like a player that would drive Babcock nuts.

Hey, I used cock and nuts in the same sentence.

- bloatedmosquito

babcock turned kadri into a solid 2-way player. so he's now both the cock and nuts?

I think Kadri's a very skilled player, but his lack of control must drive Babs crazy. I would assume he's accustomed to players that show an incredible amount of control especially in important situations like playoff games (going back to his red wing days).

Kadri's a good player...but like a lot of good players he's a f-u-c-k-ing tool. The suspension should be 3-5 games for sure...but it won't be beacause it's not Burrows or Aaron Rome.

Funny you mentioned him. I was going to troll the leaf thread with a comment about waiting until game 3 before you wake the bear with a big hit.

I tried to find something, but I think Mike Smith's 6-year $34m is the biggest they signed themselves. OEL's 6-year $33m is the next largest, and Shane Doan's biggest were 4-5 year terms totalling $21-22m

They have obviously taken on other bad contracts but usually at the tail end or insurance covered

- WhiteLie

I would do OEL at 7 yrs 50-55 mil .We also have Edler coming off the books then .

IMO Malkin is so under-appreciated because of Crosby, his career numbers in both the regular season and playoffs are outstanding. Guy is just so good!!

He is top 3 of the best Russian hockey players to play the game.

You could make an argument for Bure but I think you are right it's Federov.

Where the heck was the great and generational Mathews yesterday? I cannot remember a time in the third when his name was mentioned.

I think this is one of those times when after the Leafs are swept (LOL) it will come out that Mathews was playing through a serious Lower Body Injury and lost but was a hero.

Too bad Mathews lower body injury was a hysterectomy.

lol funny how things change. When the Oilers were 60 min away from the conference finals last year Chia was being commended even mentioned for GM of the year. My how quickly things turn around.

decent. He seems to play full seasons too from what I could tell not very injury-prone.

If he could stay above 40 pts consistently per season might be worth a look.

You could sign Edler 4 more years at 6 or a younger OEL 7x7.5

In his last 5 years he only missed 40 pts once he had 39
