What league is he in?

18U? is that some sort of university league?

- classic321

High school prep.

2013-14 Thayer Academy USHS-Prep 27gp 29g 38a 67pts

Gaudette's stats from the same league in his 17 year old season.

Gaudette's birthday made him one of the oldest players in his draft year.

Philly.

You know how the Cleveland Browns have drafted and had an infinite amount of QB's over the years?

Will they just said on the broadcast that Philly has drafted 8 goaltenders since 2012 in the draft.

Agreed.
I would say in my lifetime there have been 5 generatiinal talents, Orr Gretzky Lemeiux Crosby and now McDavid.
Malkin so close but not quite.

You consider Matthews generational? Dahlin generational? Neither of these guys are close
To Crosby or McJesus. Dahlin is not generational

- CanuckDon

They say he's the next Lidstrom or Karlsson...that's generational bro.

I thought Boqvist was the next Karlsson. I'd think Dahlin is closer to the Hedman type.

I don’t consider Karlsson generational. Lidstrom perhaps. Dahlin is a (frank)ing prospect. Everyone knew Crosby and McJesus were guaranteed to be stars. Nobody knows that about Dahlin. Slow the hype. Juolevi was also compared to lidstrom lol.

I'd add Howe to that list (of skaters) but I guess I'm older and it would be harder to tell which of three generations to put him with!

Goalies are harder. Roy changed the position. Hasek was uniquely acrobatic. I'd give them both consideration.

Luka Burzan...4th round pick??

http://www.eliteprospects.../player.php?player=258430

Heard he is improving a lot in Brandon. Remember he had good pace in the CHL prospects game but not a lot of individual skill.

Went from having 5 franchise changing D in the top 10 to hold the hype on the only guy that was supposed to be a franchise D. This draft could be all over.

Dahlin has been heralded as the best defensive prospect in at least a generation. I in fact can't remember a defencemen getting the hype that hehas hearing into the drafty. The same hype Crosby had, the same hype Mcdavid had.

Not the hype of Matthews, Hall, ekblad etc.... way better.

Karate kid you are certain Dahlin is a multiple future Norris winner? That’s some impressive scouting

Edit. Dahlin is a fantastic prospect and any team would be lucky to have him. He could be a Hedman with more flair. But he is still just an unproven prospect.

Gordie wasnt playing, then went to WHA when i started watching hockey.
He would be a generational player for sure.
Terms like generational and superstar get thrown out to easily for many random players.
Guys like Lafleur Bossy Potvin Dryden Brodeur were all very good players, none would be generational though.

Mathieu Perreault would be another contract Vancouver could take on.

Winnipeg has a crap load of contract obligations this off-season.

im no scout, but i also dont live under a rock.

One veteran NHL scout who took in the game is much less equivocal: “I don’t ever think that anyone has locked up the No.1 slot in December. Only when the season is over and you’re listing the players am I comfortable saying who’s No. 1. Right now, though, he’s at the head of the pack. He’s the best defence prospect really since Victor Hedman but he has so much more to offer [than the Tampa Bay defenceman] with his mobility and puck skills.https://www.sportsnet.ca/...s/big-read-rasmus-dahlin/

hes as unproven as mcdavid or crosby was, except hes been facing men since he was 16 in a position that takes longer to develop. you can find a million quotes from industry guys, scouts, and players saying his skating and skills are elite already, hes as close to generational as weve seen for a defensive prospect

Is Jagr a generational talent? I mean, 2nd most points all time... but is he more like Malkin than Crosby?

Did this scout you are quoting say a prospect has never been a lock to go first overall in December? Lol
