But let's keep this in perspective. He has 0 assists in 12 straight games.

He isn't continuing to shoot well above his career % for very long.

I made a study, comparing top scorers (30+) and GAA. Every tier of 10 had a +1.. ( 30+ got 1 point, 40+ got 2 points, 50+ got 3 points, etc.)

GAA counted negatively in tiers (-1 for 2.3-2.4, -2 for 2.41-2.5 etc, up to 3.1 and above, that was -8)

Having trouble formatting it because HB sucks. But the long and short of it is, it's a miracle that NJ got in the playoffs, NYI didn't get in the playoffs, and there's worse teams than the Sabres.

If the Sabres manage to pick up another 40 point d man or 2 30 point dmen, along with a healthy Eichel and a goaltending duo that can average around 2.7 GAA, the Sabres, with most of this team in tact, would be able to fight for a playoff spot. Vancouver, Ottawa, NYR and Montreal are the worst off teams in the league and need the most fixes. Especially Vancouver, losing 2/3 of their top scorers.
