Figured as much. I don't disagree with that tactic. We need to draft well, develop well and see what we have before we're offering any other 10+ million dollar contracts.

Draft. TDLs are going to become a time for acquiring rentals with a couple hockey trades sprinkled in. The draft lottery has forced teams to wait now. Can't trade #14 for Karlsson anymore, if your number is called, your fan base skins you alive.

After the lottery, talks will spark back up and they'll get it done if they are going to move him.

You are correct. A friend of mine is good friends with Bobby Ryan and attended his wedding. Let’s just say that certain players would like to go out to a restaurant and not be mobbed for autographs by ever fan in town during every meal. Some of them would prefer to play in a larger market, with a more blase attitude towards nhl players. When BR was in Anaheim, once in a while someone would approach for a picture or an autograph, but most of the time, he would go out for dinner undisturbed. Like95% of the time.

Maybe, maybe not. They've been ridiculed for the Duchene trade already so fans aren't happy, they're doing poorly even with him and it's a supposedly strong draft. Shouldn't they do it now if they're gonna?
