La was the better team in game one and lost somehow. La was the better team tonight without doughty and lost somehow. Wouldnt surprise me at all if they win this series. Theyve come back from worse before........ And won the cup in doing so. Dustin brown, difference maker in the playoffs, hes done it before. A man playing a mans game like a man. I will watch.

Jesus, Winnik just lost it on Tanev. WTF

I always hate that bullpoop, you get embarrassed on the ice, so you result to goonery.

- Wetbandit1

He buckled him with the second punch and got him a couple more times before all was said and done. I like it. If you arent going to win, set a tone for the next couple games, whats the downside? If the other team doesnt want to risk their good players to injury then they can just play their third and forth lines late with a 3 goal lead. Ill take it if im minny at that point. An I thought foligno was goiong to punch byflugien square in the jaw a couple mins before, no dice.

The Sabres could use a d-man like Tyler Myers.

How does one franchise lose two Kane trades ?

- sbroads24

I posted that on the day of the trade, when you see the lists of worst 10 trades in NHL history, the Sabres may make them twice. Both trades involving Kane.

But....but....he wasn't enough of a net front presence....

They weren't coaching D well while he was here, good for him with the Jets though.

Zadorov too, that guy didn't work while he was here, going to Colorado helped him.

That's why I like how JB is focusing more on player development. Both Zadorov and Myers were talented, so the Sabres had that talent, they just didn't develop them.

Myers and Zadorov are proof you need both talent and development.

Edit: I don't see us trying to take shortcuts this time. Maybe necessary trades to wake the "core" up, but you're going to see a lot of the bottom six being replaced by guys like Bailey, Baptiste, maybe Wilson (maybe). More than likely Nylander in the top 6. Then Rochester gets replenished with Asplundh, Oolofson, and Pu (?). That's probably not all the new faces there either. They develop bring them up and then augment with FA. Not trade them all away and sign people to huge contracts.

It's a good time to be a fan I think. There's light......I just hope it's not a train.

Nope, no train.
JBotts is doing it the right way, as you laid out.
I have to believe a couple of the more prominent players are moved though.
I do think at least one, maybe two of ROR, Reinhart, Risto is traded.

Hamilton referred to Risto as one of the guys who is resistant to playing a system...if true, they can’t have it, period.
ROR and Reinhart are too slow to play Housley’s system, and in my mind ROR just cut himself off this team with his lack of leadership remarks, as well as the rumored rift he has with Eichel...that is a goner for sure.
So my bet is on Risto and ROR as the bigger moves.

Then add in several smaller moves such as waiving Larsson, letting Polouit walk, trying to rid themselves of Blow-u and the like.

Intriguing statement from JBotts about be active in FA this year has me wondering if they are smaller moves or if they intend to make a play for a bigger fish.

Fun to watch what happens!

It's going to be interesting for sure. He was active in FA last year, he signed quite a few guys.......however, they were stop gap solutions to occupy a roster spot and allow the kids to develop.

Well, I could see him be active for a couple LW’s as that side is as bare as they come....but holy crap there are very few decent LW’s available as UFA’s...the best bet is our old friend Kane at 26 years old...and I don’t think that is happening.

Maybe JBotts grows some balls and Offer Sheets a RFA?

Eagles cant afford him
Giants have one major headache WR they don't need another
Redskins have to fix their D and running game first

I still think he ends up with the Patriots just for one year

But man oh man if we could somehow get him that would be exciting

Kingston eliminates Barrie to move on to the ECF last night. Cliff Pu with 16 points in 11 playoff games. Svechnikov finished with 11 points in 8 games (missed 4 due to suspension). Finished with 45 goals in 52 games (both playoffs and regular season). Only 9 came on the Power Play and 2 came short handed.
