We really need Svechnikov, almost as bad as we need Dahlin. - Pegullaville
Dahlin is obviously the better player in terms of skill, but if we put that aside, who do you think the Sabres would most benefit from?
I used to say Dahlin all day, but having a true scoring winger for Jack doesn't sound awful by any means. Which would you pick if they were both similar in terms of talent? |

He is a treat to watch, even on an abysmal team.
He actually dictates the pace of play around him by himself. It's not just his speed, which is terrific. It's the way he can go really, really fast, and then slow it down and keep control. You can watch him get 8 players moving on the PP, and then he slows the whole thing down and creates a shooting lane or a pass by stopping. His patience is incredible.
Get him some wingers. He will explode - jcragcrumple
*This isn't meant to bash ROR*
Get a 2nd line that's a threat at EV, and watch teams have to focus on two lines instead of constantly just worrying about shutting Eichel down
On the PP, teams were focused all year on taking his shot away, which contributed to him having only 3 goals there. |

Nice write up Pach. In my opinion, slap the "C" on Jack and get out of the way. |

I would take the defenseman. Wingers are more readily available then d-man with similar talent. However we do need both so expect the Sabres to be picking in the latter half of the top 10 again next year. |

If they win the lottery, they should at least entertain calls about trading down to 2 or 3 and picking up a d man in the process

Lets backtrack to 2015. If you get first overall do you move McDavid for Marner and Reilly ? or Eichel and Risto ? If we get 1 you go up to the podium and make the pick. |

A stud winger for Eichel and a top D man for the pick would be nice but they are saying that Dahlin is the McDavid of D men. |

don't like that idea...franchise d-men are much harder to find |

What if Ottawa picks 2nd, and they offered an extended Karlsson and the 2nd pick for 1. I'm not saying for sure make a trade, but they should listen |

I mean nobody knows how good Dahlin will really be until he plays in the league but if he continues on the trajectory he is on you would essentially be getting a more offensively crafty Victor Hedman. He would also be 9 years younger then Karlsson. Would be like trading P.K Subban for Shea Weber. |

Wouldn't mind adding him, I think he's still got some left in the tank. Doubt it happens and attitude doesn't seem to fit the McBeane plan, but who knows. |
