I am not worry about Lind at all . I am telling posters on here just because he was a second round pick don't expect much for a while. He is making nice plays and setting up players not finishing but Lind himself is probably 2 years away if he makes the Canucks - VANTEL
It's your example that is throwing everyone off. It's not common to pick prospects 3 or 4 years apart in development to use to support the point you are making. I don't think anyone disagrees with the point only you can see it your post though. Yeah, it's a crap shoot. Not many people think it's like selecting finished products off a shelf already assembled ready to do what it says on the label. There are a couple that think that way...
I'm going D with our first no matter what. Should we get 2, 3 or 4...I'm trading down...team needs a go-to defenseman. Probably won't benefit for a few years but start now.

Yup.... cannot and should not count on Jr age players making the show for atleast 2 seasons after the draft. If any make the jump sooner...count your lucky stars and be grateful. Let the kids cook
I am sure some here have him penciled in top 6 already for next year - VANTEL
Nobody should have Lind in our lineup next year - full year in Utica is a must. Some other dudes from his draft class are currently in the A
Studnicka 4gms 1g 3a 4pts
L Anderson 25/4/9/14
Tippet 4/1/1/2
N Hague 4/0/1/1
Anderson Dolan 5/0/2/2
Ratcliffe 2/1/0/1
Chytil 46/11/20/31
Chekhovich 6/2/6/9 - 7th rounder!!!

I agree... defensemen should be the top priority with the 1st rounder. I'd like to see them go d with the first three picks

It had more to do with my discussion with Manvan and second round picks. I think Lind could be an NHLer but you just never know for sure how a player will turn out. I personally doubt Gadj and Lind are both part of this core in 5 years. I could be wrong but I expect after this upcoming draft we will have 6 more cant miss prospects that will be penciled in for the 2020 roster

I expect Lind at least 2 years on the Comets same with Gadj
here is a site with top 500 projected from january. big shocker to start but i like #9 Kotkaniemi
i like how you can refine your searching by the boxes on top to see birthdates and rankings and other - onesmallleap
Can't help but notice this doesn't herald Dahlin as a generational defense man. Says he's clearly the number one but there are a couple of D that could be as good or possibly better.

sounds about right...maybe callups after TDL in the 2nd year, no rush, let them develop properly.
Id say Petterson and Juolevi are the only guys that have a shot at the lineup next year outta camp, but sending them down for awhile won't hurt, Dahlin's a question mark, maybe after xmas callup when we run into our annual string of injuries???

i saw that too, and in the Crosby draft there was never a doubt about 1st overall , now i n=know Dahlin is going 1st , but to have somebody have him#2 in the mid-season rankings speaks to maybe alot of hype for TV purposes

We will find out in training camp but what I expect next year is:
Gaudette to stay with club at 3C
OJ to replace Hutton
Pettersson to make second line RW
Demko to replace Neilsson
After that I expect Canucks to be more traditional with maybe one prospect a year making the club
