does MacKinnon have a shot for the Hart?
does the odds change if he did it for a bigger market than colorado? - homiedclown
I'd go with him or maybe Giroux |

It looked like a great one - Sabresfan-365
It pissed me off how a lot of people (okay, mostly James Duthie) kept complaining about how it wasn't fair because of the short tournament with the stakes being so high, etc. You don't lose tournaments in round robin. Sure, seeding could be affected (and it wasn't anyway), but ask Sweden how much good the 1-seed does them every year. |

in fact they're specifically designed that way so that nobody really loses in the round robin, not unless you're terrible.
It might be that he's more in favour of rewarding round robin success. |

Ryan O’Reilly first 3 seasons
235 games - 107 points - .45 PPG
Eichel’s first 3
209 games - 177 points - .84 PPG - sbroads24
Pretty funny to see YOU use a PPG argument when u were so against it when discussing Kane’s production
Also,
no one expects O’Reilly to score like Jack |

I dunno, that flyers team was going nowhere until Giroux took his game to the next level.

I've hit more golf balls at the golf dome this past month than I did all last year.
It's like winter isn't going to end until 2019 after Game of Thrones is over. |

Dude what? You are the one who won’t let people use Kane’s lack of points in Buffalo because he’s a goal scorer.
Are you trolling or just not remembering? |

It's not un precedented. Stamkos spent 5 of his first 6 years out of a playoff spot.
Tavares something similar as well. - Sabresfan-365
Certainly not ideal either though
Do u think we should “tank” for 3 more years?
I get the temptation to collect high end assets,
but it’s probably not a good idea to just keep sucking |

I don't think they'll get a core guy for ROR because he isn't one. - Sabresfan-365
O’Reilly is MUCH better than a “decent top9” guy
Come on man |

It's a risk/reward thing. Suck for a decade and win a championship in Year 11 (not suggesting it's automatic) and that decade becomes a distant memory real fast. |

They're not winning the cup.
They have a better chance of re-signing him. |

I would take a top 15 pick and a B prospect and run - sbroads24
That’s a terrible freaking return for O’Reilly
How does that make us better?
A top15 pick could just as easily be Grigorenko as it could be Forsberg
(they were drafted 1 pick apart)
And a “B” prospect is most likely a 3rd liner or bottom 6 defenseman
Wow...
no freaking way is that a good deal |

it's not temptation. it's calculated. I don't view it as tanking because i dont see it as trading away assets for a shot at a top pick.
I see some players who just don't fit their given roles at their current salaries. you may take a hit in the short term yes, but long term moving on from bad value is always in your best interest. |

Yeah,
But I’d go with Kopitar or Hall
Both did about as much as the other contenders with less help |

And if it’s Grigorenko than I guess we will just be a bad team again and draft really high and get someone really good.
Sounds like a win |

We wouldn’t want those guys PLUS our “good” players?
I feel like we’d be a stronger team then if we just “Evander Kane’d” them |
