is every player on their team fast?...or are there a few who are not? - Michael Pachla

got it...but what if that's dispersed amongst the top-nine next year? - Michael Pachla
Botterill and Housley have made a point of mentioning speed, a few times. I would think one of the slow forwards who play a lot of minutes will be moved out |

He murdered two people with a (frank)ing pencil, once....
Edit: That might have been John Wick |

If we did trade Ristolainen and ROR
Ristolainen for Kyle Connor Or konecny
ROR for hampus Lindholm ,1st
This is if we win the lottery
Sign John Carlson
Rasmus Dahlin - Carlson
lindholm -Guhle
Sam - Jack - Connor/ konecny

They are a very slow duo - sbroads24
I think you’re exaggerating,
but they certainly aren’t fast
U think that’s why their 5v5 numbers aren’t good?
Would having a speedy guy like Bailey, who can also create room physically, help? |

Okposo as RW 1
ROR as C 2
Reinhart as RW 2
I mean that's not a lot of dispersing |

Two things...
1) i said “AS OF NOW”
2) how do we know we are getting rid of a “core” guy? - jdfitz77
Then I’m pretty sure half the fanbase will say “same old bs”
How is staying with the same core sending a good message to the fanbase |

Only if Chirielli ends up getting fired and hired and then fired and hired again in this offseason |

Might not be as easy as some on here are saying though
For example:
What if they see Sam & ROR as part of the future here, & Okposo is the guy they wanna move?
He’s probably not very tradable right now
So maybe their plan (FOR NOW) has to shift, and they play Okposo with Jack to get his points up & hopefully make him more tradable OR they move him down to the 3rd line & spread out the slower players a bit
What I’m trying to say...
they might not be able to fully realize their vision by the start of next season
Might take a couple years for them to get the pieces in place,
and move out the pieces who they don’t think fit |

No they kept him so he could fix the mess in Edmonton... which he created. It's actually a pretty smart business plan for Chiarelli |

I think the groin injury really hurt him both physically and mentally.
I was at his first NHL game and saw his goal. I was so excited after that because he seemed like a great bottom 6 power forward high energy player. - Shadman306
Yeah that power move to the front of the net, I remember it well, reminded me of Pommers first lol. Yeah, just surprised me that he went from being a fringe NHLer to a fringe AHLer for us in such a short time. |

U make it sound like a video game though
They can’t just make trades all that easy just bc the fans aren’t happy
They’ve gotta build the team to their image,
which is probably gonna take longer than we all want

Is this Fasching you’re talking about?
I don’t think it’s that he’s a fringe AHLer
He’s just been really banged up the last 2 years
IF he can stay healthy,
then we will see him be a really good AHL player who is again pushing his way towards getting in our lineup
He’s not a good skater though,
and is a slower player
So i could see him being moved at some point by Botts |

I don't think it's as simple as liking two and not the other.
IMO, they want to ice a team able to play a system they would like. IMO, they want the core consist with guys who can really skate. It wouldn't surprise me if both go over the next few years. |

That may be too
I was just throwing out a scenario that i could see as being pretty plausible
The overall point is...
it might take a few years for them to move pieces in & out before they realize their vision of having a speedy team |

That's not good enough, and Botts himself said at his presser that he doesn't believe it should take that long. If it does take that long, then he's been too slow to realize his vision. If multiple pieces of 55, 90, 21, 23 and 15 are gonna go, then that should have started at the TDL. there's no reason he should have waited if that's now suddenly his plan |

I stopped reading the comments once it was suggested okposo wears an A
IMO give Jack the C
the 3 A's go to players not on this roster yet |

It will take a while I agree, but I can't see them not moving someone who's a core player this year |
