Do I think the Penguins at this time have more talent? Yes. My point about the two points was that the Sielski acts as if the Flyers are light years behind the Penguins. The series is 2-1 for goodness sake.
Illusion or not, they were only 2 points behind and that is a fact. I'm starting to think this Sielski guy may be a poster on here. - hockeylover

I just want to see a bounce back effort, win or lose.
And as someone pointed out, lets see a game that isn't a blowout....LOL - MBFlyerfan
I'm a little tired of expecting a "bounce back game". Do I want one? Well Yes, I have no choice if I want to see my team advance. At the same time, I want a lot more consistency from the Philadelphia Flyers. I want them to be prepared every night.
I have a question for all. To you, how do our Stars match up to other Stars? To me, Giroux is apart of the cream of the crop. He's been a big game player in all situations over the course of his career, multiple times. Can we say the same about Voracek and Simmonds?
Do we have stars that match up to Toews, Kane, Crosby or Malkin's level? I'll add Briere to this mix who has never won a Cup. |

Honestly, there's no reason to read anyone else. Fact: most sports writers are awful. Most are lazy researchers and poor writers, even the ones who use 50-cent words and "erudite" metaphors. Bill is a clear exception. He's so far better than most that it's a shame he has to be lumped into the same category with the others. |

I thought that, but there was no tells such as "disgrace", embarrassing", "laughable", inept", and no shots directed towards Holmgren.
Jury is still out on whether it's JoeGrief, or Stepford Sam however. |

Nah, shed a little dead weight on the 3rd/4th lines and get a better goalie and they're good to go. - Scoob
Yup, they aren't as far as some around here think.
One more good center, another year or 2 of experience for the young D and bringing in a couple more too, adding some more talent, speed and size to the bottom six and finding a legit starting goalie are what they need and there are multiple prospects in the system to fill each need.
Center: Between Frost, Vorobyev and perhaps even Vecchione, they should be able to find one more good center.
D: Provorov is a legit #1 and Ghost a legit top 4. Sanheim will be a top 4 guy by next season, the kid oozes talent is only going to keep filling out and get stronger. Between Hagg, Morin and Myers, you should be able to fill the 4/5 spots and you can always find 6/7 guys if needed.
bottom six: Ratcliffe, NAK, Allison, Rubtsov, Laczynski, Sushko, and Strome join Lindblom and Laughton in giving them a pretty good pool to draw from here.
Goal: In Hart, followed by Sandstrom they have as good a one/two punch in goal prospects as any team in the league and they have another dark horse in Ustimenko.
It's coming, and it's not that far off either.

Simmonds, IMO, is a complementary player, not a star. To put him on a level with guys like Crosby, Kane, Malkin, or even Toews or Briere is to way overrate him and expect to much from him. Jake has been a flat out disappointment this series though and needs to play better and to be more disciplined.
Giroux is giving his all and he's a legit top player in this league. I think Patrick is going to be one too, but he's not quite there yet at age 19. |

In my opinion, this is a typical "hey they're in the playoffs, let me write about them today" article. This guy is a joke. Anyone who pens an article that only contains the words "culture change" for the entire piece is a clown.
For all of the Penguins are superior talk, they finished 2 friggin points ahead of the Flyers who struggled in early March and when through a 10 winless streak.
Yes, the Flyers may lose this series, they may win it too. But this team's future is bright. - hockeylover
This is what Sielski does, fwiw.
There are media folks in this town who love to tweak Flyers fans because Flyers fans will react. Sielski has definitely taken a page out of Mike Missanelli's media playbook on how to spark reaction out of the various local fans.

No doubt the pipeline is loaded with viable prospects and that they'll be sprinkled in the lineup over the next few seasons. I still wonder about Hak's tendency to play vets, even when the kids are better and Hexy's poor FA acquisitions, as well as his lack of trades for impact players.

I think the plan involves moving away from some of the HB whipping-boy vets in the very near future. |

That's just dumb. The reason Flyers fans don't like Crosby is because he's not a Flyer. The list of reasons starts and ends there. - Scoob
Wrong
I don’t like Crosby because he is still a whining douche. Not as bad as when he came into the league granted but still enough to not like him. Is he a great player absolutely. If he was on the flyers I still wouldn’t like the guy but appreciate world class talent on team. |

Jake has really disappointed me so far in this series.
With the way Patrick is playing, if Jake was matching his level of play, that line would be flat out dominating games.
