Good breakdown on the only goal, Sheng. It's an excellent example of how the Kings' system encourages risky over-aggressiveness. First, Folin goes for a big hit far up the ice, allowing a 3-on-2 rush against. Next, Muzzin plays Karlsson so overly aggressively that he allows that 3-on-2 rush to turn into a 2-on-1... with the one being a rookie forward.
Neither is a freak incident. Both players play like this all of the time. It's just that they usually get away with it because the Kings' system requires the forwards (like Iafallo, in this case) to cover for them. People frequently assume that the Kings have great defensemen because the team allows so few goals, but everyone not named Doughty gets propped up significantly by the forwards so often doing their job for them. Kopitar is a perennial Selke finalist because he so often has to play defense to make up for his defensemen not playing it.
meh...who knows, I'm sure someone can post a graph at how good or bad he is, depending what you want to see.

It's pretty simple: Muzzin is good at offense and bad at defense. The reason why he's overrated is that people look at his perpetually high Corsi and assume that it means that he's good at a defense. They don't look more closely at his play and the underlying stats to recognize that the chances that he allows tend to be high danger ones, like on the McNabb goal. He tends to be on the ice for a lot of low danger shots
for and a lot of high danger shots
against. The former outnumbers the latter, giving him a great Corsi, but both result in about the same number of goals, meaning that his actual value on the ice isn't nearly as high as many assume (hence, the overrating).
