So then how exactly are we setting ourselves back 3 years? - sbroads24
Holy poop, dude.
I will say it one more time. I'm talking about Risto and Risto only. |

If he is good enough so that trading him set us back 3 years, then he would be good enough to elevate his teammates around him. He hasn't.
Trading him isn't ideal. It no where near sets us back 3 years |

That's why you hope for Dahlin, keep Risto and add another good D man. Move forward not back. |

Im inclined to respond with the same post. Botterill all but confirmed mccabe/bogo will be the 2nd pair next year, and tbh it doesnt matter. As much as I don't like Bogosian, there are no moves that make this team a playoff contender as soon as next year. This at least ensures Guhle and Nelson get sheltered minutes. |

I was just giving a scenario. I can't see the future. Who the (frank) knows? I was just showing how it can indeed, get worse. Since that seems to be the only tangible reason I've heard for getting rid of Risto. The only other reason being rampant conjecture.
And Risto was better than his teammates this year, if he's doing his own thing maybe they should try it his way.

Who are you going to get?
Let's hear actual ideas instead of just "get rid of them, good riddance".
And, no, "a 1st and a team's 2nd or 3rd best prospect" is not an idea. It's lazy. |

I didn't at first but it kind of makes sense. They don't want Guhle or Nelson playing heavy minutes and I doubt either he or Pegula want yet another buyout on the payroll.
They won't be good next year, so they're better off feeding bogo and mccabe to the wolves to protect Guhle and Nelson. |

In some areas. Others no. In totals, sure, but only Scandella and Risto played more than 59 games on our blue line |

are you and fitz the same person? lol
It's not lazy, I don't know the NHL trade market. I couldn't tell you for a second what ROR's value is, who is available, who might become available a month from now, 2 months from now etc.
Maybe they can swing a deal where they get Galchenyuk from MTL, maybe Trouba and the Jets can't work out an extension. Maybe the Oilers pull another classic and decide to move on from Klefbom. Or maybe there's a whole set of other players that could quietly be available |

If you don't like the direction the team is going in and want to force change, but keep giving them your money? Yes.
If you really don't care and just like going to games? No.
But we've been over all this before.
You can get tickets dirt cheap on the open market while they're bad. So you might have to wait a year or two once they're good to get your tickets back. Big deal. If you can afford season tickets you can afford to pay a little more for games, especially with all the money you saved by not buying them for a few years. - Wetbandit1
That's not how it works.
If you have poopty seats in the corner, sure you can probably jump back in and grab those seats or similarly crappy seats.
If you have seniority and lifetime seats, you bite the bullet for years.
A season ticket strike isn't going to change anything.
The Sabres are going to be good, and when they are, the prices will be ridiculous.
I really think we contend for a playoff spot thru March next year.
The sabres want their tickets back so they can charge outrageous prices themselves. Instead of season ticket holders making a margin.
For the past 8 years the Sabres have been brutal, but maintained 16,000 sth. Now on the fridge, they want their seats back.
Tanked terrible on purpose this year
Offer nothing to sth
Do zero upgrades to the arena
Continue to not clean the bathrooms ect.
There must be a reason?
I'm not complaining, I like going to the games |

Born and raised in Buffalo, if I lived there still I would be at the games win or lose. |
