It's a yearly pilgrimage for me and my mates. - bloatedmosquito
Mosquitoes are not a big deal to me. Even when I get bit a dozen times. I understand a few things.
Dont wear dark solid colors and your swarm will be 20% of what it would be with that black hoodie on. Wear a white one.
Dont scratch that bite for the first few hours and the next day you wont even know there was a bite on that spot.
When camping, a fire cooked meal won't draw the bastards to your site. The smokeless Co2 from the BBQ/Stove will... as well as exhaust from a truck, ATV or genny.
My one weakness with those things is at night in my bedroom or camper when trying to sleep. A single mosquito that doesn't even intend to bite me will keep me awake all night. At times there are like 50 in the house. Multiple sweep throughs with the swatter a day and always before bed. It seemed worse when I first moved to the North Cariboo though. I had to put a mosquito net over my bed then.

It's why I hate camping, I'm allergic to DEET or any sort of mosquito repellant and I seem to attract mosquitoes like crazy when I'm outdoors. It's like my blood is more delicious to them then others. I once went hunting up near Fort St. Johns with a friend and I had to turn back because there was literally a cloud of buzzing mosquitoes flying around me and was chasing the game away. |

Oh, and a sneaky tip,,,, don't tell your friend with the dark hoodie why they are all over him and not you. "The Decoy". I learned that with my Rotty... poor girl.... but I wouldnt have a single one on me 4 feet from her.
It's like tripping your friend when you are being chased by a bear. Bush survival. Every man for himself. |

I like Toronto's offense.
But I still laugh that a #6/#7 D-Man in Zaitsev got a 7 year deal.
Dude is straight garbage. |

Their D is suffering poor coaching. How do they not have a single pairing able to keep those gaps under control? Their forwards with the give aways are only making it worse.
Then there is Freddy Scrambleson. He's hasnt been terrible but once again shows he can't carry a team in the playoffs like he can in the regular season.
I warned of all the artificial threat the Leaf's were tagged with. This team has suffered what so many rebuilding teams have... lack of patience. Now they will start trading offense and draft picks to improve the D after locking themselves into a UFA who probably will do little to help. When/if that balances out, they will be just another decent team and doubtful they will see a final even out of this generation. Matthews looks like a punk to me after this season. His comments and his body language... the Matthews slurpers on SN even talking about it... let's see how Matthews handles Toronto when they start talking and asking questions about him. Just a hint of it and he's already reacted to it.

How about this for depth, the Jets call-up Sami Niku, a 21 year-old 7th round pick, 2015, who just won ahl best defenseman award |

They went back and studied years of previous drafts and adjusted their strategy accordingly, now it’s paying off
Sometimes it pays to consider the possibility that they’re are new/better ways to do things |

I remember reading something about that awhile back.
They have done well being patient and waiting for their plan to kick in.

There is only one sports theme in this town and if you don't play by it's rules you're done. Syndicate all the American talk shows you want... nobody is listening. |
