I don't care what Nucker says Gaunce is running out of time and room
- VANTEL

I just think he’s a solid 4th liner and it’s funny seeing people post 2020 lineups with guys who are worse than him in the bottom 6.

That’s all.

So why do people dislike Hughes but like Bouchard?

Bouchard is apparently the one with the most question marks defensively out of all the top dmen in this draft. Some people who watch him even go as far to say that he’s not even a good enough defender by CHL standards yet.

Haven’t seen enough of him yet to comment myself but I don’t want to draft the next Pouliot.

It has all been said before . Tavares Carlson Karlsson OEL but most of it won't happen. We still have 17 forwards fighting for 13 spots, and 9 Dmen fighting for 7 and 3 back up goalies.

Nothing much will change until we find our draft order and trades are made in 2 months . Until then it is Chaput v Gaunce

If Demko Wins in the playoffs does management move up the timetable?

I expected Demko to play next year anyways. I think you give him 30 sheltered games his first year .

Well then my question still stands. Why do some people here have a chubby for Bouchard but not seem to be high on Hughes?

I haven’t seen either of them play much so I’m genuinely curious. Hughes seems to actually get more praise for being a smarter defender despite size limitations. And he’s considered the better skater and better at creating offense for teammates.

I think the point that some of us are saying is it is important to surround guys like OJ Lind Gadjovich and other new prospects a winning environment . They have very little to do with the Canucks . They are very good AHL players though. They make Comets competitive.

I agree about the Canucks I would like to see a huge change too but the President said a few weeks back Don't expect us to go all in on free agents.

I want trades .

Unless a big name is available stand pat and go with youth. I enjoyed this season because the young guys got minutes. Tons of mistakes but that’s part of learning.

Patience. If they need a stopgap C or D then they can trade for an overpaid one who’s contract is up soon and get a prospect or pick back as well for taking on the contract. That makes way more sense to me than splurging for Bozak, Carlson, Kane(he’s younger at least), Neal or JVR and then regretting it later.

The time to splurge is when the team has its own core built and good enough to get into the playoffs and needs a piece or 2 to become contenders.

If you want that type of Dman then go for Boqvist

NEIther get the Dahlin Boqvist hype. It probaby comes down to what specific attributes people see in Bouchard. Mostly height. 5’9” meh 6’1”ooh aah.

Bochard is 6'2 is a good skater as well . Good set up man , good shot and is not bad defensively like Nucker said he is a plus 23 not minus 23

Dobson is 6'3 and a solid 2 way Dman and that is why Canucks have growing interest

Weird. I’ve read comments from Knights fans that watch every or most games and have seen plenty of top end young talent over the years who say he’s mediocre defensively but then you read conflicting reports from these scouting sites and it makes you wonder if these sites are just an echo chamber.

Or maybe the Knights fans are just too hard on him like Canuck fans with Edler for example.

Pouliot was a +35 and +40 in his last 2 years in the WHL and he sucks defensively

Not saying he’ll be Pouliot 2.0but I’m saying that +/- in junior is misleading. The tops teams feed on the bottom feeders. Less parity than the NHL

I was just going to say this

Bouchard has the puck in the opposite end most of the time on the ice

I’m going with echo chamber. I dont think most of these sites have their own paid scouts. Most of you guys myself included watch more tape watch live hockey than ninety percent of these sites.

Not buying it. He single handedly dragged his team to the playoffs and was playing 30 minutes a night. Doesn't compute.

I have only seen him play in 1 Knights game earlier this year and thought he was best player on the ice, at both ends.
Like your comparison to how fans are hard on Edler, maybe what is happening in London after having such a strong teams for years, they overstate the errors or undervalue players while team is transitioning.
