I would hate any good player going to the Flyers.
I personally think he remains an Islander, but if any other team gets him it's the Leafs in some sort of blockbuster trade.
If the Leafs gets him? We'll be talking about another team looking for a three-peat in the near future. - Rinosaur
Why? He's a free agent. |

Flyers have no need to blow it up. Others have made good reasons why so I won't repeat, but they have the pieces in place to do a quick little retool and be a real threat soon.
I did not hear those chants though. - Rinosaur
Sarcasm bro they retooled pretty well like we did telling holmgren n clarke to stfu was a good start
The nhl must have rigged the lottery for them to get patrick lol kids a stud |

Cap space. Trade his rights with a pre-negotiated deal or a sign-and-trade. |

Leafs have a few expiring contracts and can move a few others to make room. Of course in saying that, some of their big (young) guns are up for extensions soon.... |

And they have two other blue chip d prospects that have value. With Proverov, Ghost, and Sanheim all panning out, they could be good trade bait for some missing pieces.

Is there any shot Washington can retain him? - Victoro311
With the amount of teams needing a player like him & the Caps basically settling on winning Presidents trophies (this year excluded as they didn't & are still alive), he can pick a better team that has a better chance of winning Stanley. I think he's gone personally but we will see him in the Metro making another great again. |

That’s why I think with three of them panning out they should entertain trading some of the others to fill roster holes before they start losing value. |

Sanheim, Provorov and Gost are all Top 4 D already, so I think it's safe to say they have "panned" out. |

Yes they are ahead of Manning, McDonald, Gudas and Oduya.
Proverov is the real deal and ghost is legit but Ill reserve judgement on the rest. |

They don’t at all need a blow it up rebuild. They have all the hard pieces to get. They have two really good top 6 centers (although they’re using Giroux as a wing right now), a rookie who could evolve into a top 6 center as soon as next season, a top winger in Vorachek, a budding #1 defenseman in Provarov, and two other young defensemen that are without a doubt top 4 caliber.
So pretty much Philly has a good top 6 and potentially elite top 4 in place. What they need is a) a new coach first and foremost b) actual goaltending c) better depth. You don’t do a blow up rebuild when you’re being sunk by bad coaching, bad goaltending, and bad depth. That’s like the easiest thing to fix. They’re basically pretty much where we were at the end of the Bylsma/Johnston era minus the goaltending bit. - Victoro311
I think you are overrating what Philly has.
I really like Couturier but he is probably on the lower end of #1C's in the league.
Patrick could end up being really good or he could completely flame out. Didn't do much in the regular season but has looked solid in this series. Big injury concerns for someone his age.
What are you smoking to say that Philly has an elite top 4????? Provorov looks promising. Ghost has offensive upside but struggles without the puck. And the rest of their D are terrible.
Coaching isn't the issue... leadership and talent are.
By my count, Philly has:
-A really good top line when things are going their way.
-An ok 2nd line.
-No bottom 6.
-2 good defencemen.
-No good goalies.

Provorov could end up being a true first pairing guy. Ghost is great offensively but without the puck he looks like a liability. Sanheim is not there yet.
Today, none of those guys would be in the Pens top 4. I'd probably take Oleksiak over Ghost & Sanheim at this point also. |

Ghost was better than Provorov by every standard 5v5 metric out there this season. Sure Provorov has a higher ceiling long term but it is very clear who the better player is today. |

Provorov IS a true first pairing guy. He led the league in goals as a defenseman and played top minutes in all situations. Nationally, he's regarded as a Norris contender. He's just been on a (frank)ing island this series,
Ghost has been exponentially better defensively this year, but the Pens are designed to expose any weaknesses he has, and his confidence looks shot.
Sanheim has played like 30 NHL games.
Provorov, given a real team to play with, would be paired with Letang and you guys would love it. |

Provo is the real deal. I'd take him in a heartbeat and would be immediately in our top 4. |

And at the same time are calling others dumb and dumber? |
