Depends how important the Center position is to you
Are we a team that’s building a “top6”
Or are we building down the MIDDLE,
and filling in the wings around the centers?
I’m more of a “build down the middle” guy,
but it remains to be seen what Botts thinks
To be fair though....
We don’t necessarily have to keep ROR to build down the middle though
Rodrigues scored at a .5pts/game pace
Asplund is probably ready by 19-20, if not now
Pu & Davidsson coming too
So if one (or more) of those guys can be a legit Center for us...
then maybe we can afford to move O’Reilly & still be strong down the middle
Just don’t move ROR for this mid1st & a decent prospect crap
That a BS return for a good player
Trading him has to bring back a core piece
Not a pick that could just as easily turn out to be Girgensons as it could McAvoy
Don’t give me the pick,
give me the “McAvoy” type prospect
Then I’m ok trading ROR
*as long as Botts is confident about 1 of the centers coming
I think waiting a year makes the most sense
We can find out more about these other centers, and it gives Mitts a year to establish himself instead of throwing him right into the 2C slot
And ROR should still have good trade value - jdfitz77
I am certain E-Rod can fill the 3rd line center roll
which regarding ROR, move him to LW or trade him
the lottery determine really what we need, if picking 1 we need a really good RD prospect and LW prospect
if picking #2, a LD and a RD prospect
if picking #3, a LD and a LW prospect
the lottery position is that important |

Just how “involved” are they though?
Are they just sitting at the table...
or are they dictating who we pick?
There’s a huge difference - jdfitz77
what I hear, she is not just sitting |

We'd be right where we've been for 23 years since Jim Kelly retired. I'm fully in the 2 1sts, 2 2nds and 2 3rds camp. Get the guy. If they can avoid giving up next year's first, that's a HUGE win imo. If not, that's the price of doing business - jcragcrumple
Bingo. You know what happens to Beane and Mcd if they don't find a QB in the next 2-3 years. they get fired. then we are bringing in a new coach and GM who wants his guys. SO he starts releasing and trading away the current regimes players and we are doing this all over again. |

He’s an “ok” player
But it’s amusing to me how ppl on here bash guys that are actually good,
and are productive,
as being “overpaid”
And then turn around & ignore what little production we’d get from Pommer
10-12 goals for 5.6mil
How anyone can justify that is beyond me - jdfitz77
It's amazing to me how you can't see the difference between a guy we traded and paid to be a franchise player, and a guy we literally took on so we could acquire a top 4 D man |

She can sit there all she wants, if she overrides what the coach and GM want to do then there is a huge huge issue - Stripes77
Kim and Terry are why Kane is gone, Tyrod got benched, and Miller moved on
and that is just the tip of the iceberg

The best QB in my adult life has been either Kyle Orton or TT, and I can't decide which one it is. I am so ready for someone good. |

Exactly, they can't win anything with AJ McCarron.
I think it's crazy that throughout the Bills almost 60-year history they have only drafted a QB in the first round three times. |

That is the Giants's GM's opinion of the day. You can also say with no risk you get no reward. - GilPerreault11
I know this is two different things but:
Sabres tanked to get Eichel, dumb GM trades away a ton of draft picks to try to speed up the rebuild and traded away draft picks for players that turned out to be complimentary pieces and not core guys
Tank worked but the team sucks
Bills traded away a lot of dead weight (Watkins, Darby and Dareus during or before the season and Glenn and Tyrod after) team overachieved because they bought into what the coach was trying to build here. They now have a ton of draft picks to continue building. Do you trade away 4 of those picks for a QB (this is the difference as the QB is the most important position in the NFL) that may or may not be the guy? Also having him play behind an O-Line that was already struggling last year got worse with Wood and Richie retiring (Glenn barely played so that I don't care about) a defense that overachieved that lost it's starting MLB (very important in McDermott's scheme) and expect the same type of play they got out of them last year?
Yes it is a QB driven league, but those QB's need a team around them to make them winners. Brady lost the Super Bowl last year because their defense was more porous than Lehner in a shootout.
If it takes 3 picks to move up fine but I am not moving next years first. I am also not sold on any of these guys to give more than that away. I love Mayfield, but I am not sending 4 or 5 picks to get him. |

The Ringer's Kevin Clark reports the Browns have "considered" drafting a quarterback with both the No. 1 and No. 4 overall picks.
It is highly unlikely this actually happens, but that does not mean it is a bad idea. The success rate of even first-round quarterbacks is shockingly low, but taking two of the top quarterbacks would give Cleveland a decent shot at landing one long-term starter. If both pan out, they would also have a valuable trade chip to acquire future assets. That said, developing one quarterback is difficult enough, and it would be a challenge to find enough practice reps for Tyrod Taylor and two rookies. Still, the fact the Browns have even considering an out-of-the-box idea like this is a good sign. |

Then it sets back this franchise 5 years and he is looking for a new job
Not saying that it's right or wrong but that is the reality
If he finds someone he absolutely loves then sure go for it, but NOBODY outside of the select few in that draft discussion has any idea what they are thinking and who they like - Stripes77
Sure...
but how successful are we the next 5 years with QBs like McCarron, Tyrod, Ej, etc?
We’ve seen how far u can get,
and it’s 1 “lucky” playoff appearance in forever
We really do need to find a QB
They just gotta make sure they’re right |

Only one of those things was arguably bad. The Bills' offense was pathetic for weeks, 3 and outs left and right, D wore out because they were on the field constantly. Miller? Meh. Wasn't there something to him not wanting to be on a rebuilding team and also being closer to the wife out West when he had a chance to be a FA? Not sure he wanted to live in the Elmwood Village while she was in LA. |

What? Groy is a better center than Eric Wood last year. - CoHo_to_B-Lo
Groy has started less than a dozen nfl games, not all of them at center. Not sure how much better groy was last year watching wood play while sitting on the bench?
Wood started all 16 games
Groy played well the last month or so 2016 when wood was hurt |
