I am certain E-Rod can fill the 3rd line center roll
which regarding ROR, move him to LW or trade him
the lottery determine really what we need, if picking 1 we need a really good RD prospect and LW prospect
if picking #2, a LD and a RD prospect
if picking #3, a LD and a LW prospect
the lottery position is that important - homiedclown
But what are u looking for from your 3C ?
E Rod might (or might not) substantially improve going forward...
but playing (mostly) 3C for us last year,
he was at a pace of 12goals for a full season
His 31assist pace was solid though
If he’s only around 12 goals...
then is that 3rd line functioning as a “scoring unit” for us?
I’d say not very effectively |

this is what is wrong with the Bills/Sabres

Sure...
but how successful are we the next 5 years with QBs like McCarron, Tyrod, Ej, etc?
We’ve seen how far u can get,
and it’s 1 “lucky” playoff appearance in forever
We really do need to find a QB
They just gotta make sure they’re right - jdfitz77
What if, they believe McCarron is that guy?
Like Jimmy G sitting behind Brady?
I am not saying he is that guy and they believe he is but what if?
I believe McDermott has a vision, hell they made the playoffs last year but knows this team isn't good enough to contend. He knows as he says "have a ton of warts" so that means they have tons of holes to fill.
What if Smith falls to 12 and they take him instead of a QB and then take a QB at 22?
If McDermott can get a team lead by Tyrod to the playoffs then I have faith in him to know what the hell is doing.
That being said they traded guys away for a reason and I don't think the main reason was to shed salary (outside of Dareus) |

If your third line center is getting you 12 goals and 31 assists I think 43 points a year out of your 3rd line center is more than plenty |

It's amazing to me how you can't see the difference between a guy we traded and paid to be a franchise player, and a guy we literally took on so we could acquire a top 4 D man - sbroads24
At the end of the day...
YOU still are advocating that it’s ok to get 10-12goals from a guy who’s costing 5.6mil against the Cap

Sabres Offseason Projection: Winning the Lottery Version
The article is on yahoo
The biggest move of the offseason and future comes in the form of defenseman Rasmus Dahlin. As I mentioned, in this version of my offseason projections, I have the Sabres cashing in on their league-best 18.5 percent odds of landing the top pick in the draft.
Dahlin is the exact defenseman they need to begin to turn around a position that has plagued them for a few years. With the addition of Carlson as well, the Sabres could have plugged their biggest hole.
This roster as I’ve built it leaves the Sabres with $2.9 million in cap space with an $80 million salary cap. The roster will consist of 13 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders.
Here’s a full recap of the lineup:
Athanasiou - Eichel - Reinhart
CJ Smith - Mittelstadt - Okposo
Hagelin - O’Reilly - Baptiste
Rodrigues - Malone - Wilson
Pominville
Scandella - Carlson
Dahlin - Ristolainen
Nelson - Guhle
Beaulieu
Ullmark - Bernier

Then they’re dumb
McCarron might turn out to be pretty decent
But there’s been NOTHING to suggest he can be a “Franchise QB” |

Ok, fine
As long as they feel the QB at 22 can be a franchise guy
I NEVER said that we had to trade up
I’ve said,
“We have to find a QB”
Usually the higher up u pick,
the better chance u have...
but i don’t really care where we choose the guy as long as he’s good
I do like Rudolph,
who we very well could pick 22nd
(or later maybe) |

You and I are on the same page, we have been since this debate about moving up started.
For the record I don't think McCarron is the guy, he is not Jimmy G or he would have been able to beat out Dalton |

I mean if I were Elway I would, but you have Devontae Booker and can always adress RB at the top of rounds 2 or 3. |

They are on the east coast, why would they play a 4pm game? It is either 1pm or prime time.

Bills and Jets have played many a 4:00 games. Both in Buffalo and NY. And this is recently, when neither team was any good. |
