So when does the Bills/Broncos deal go down for the 5th overall pick? - GilPerreault11
All I know is that you guys probably won't like how much you are going to give up. |

Bills and Jets have played many a 4:00 games. Both in Buffalo and NY. And this is recently, when neither team was any good. - Wetbandit1
The Bills haven't had many games past 1pm for a long time
Ralph Wilson was against it because of the idiot fans.
Playing the 4pm game in New York was different. |

Correct.
But if anything it means they aren't taking a QB the real question is how far back will they go in the draft.
Trying to get a bidding war between the Bills and Dolphins.

Sabres Offseason Projection: Winning the Lottery Version
The article is on yahoo
The biggest move of the offseason and future comes in the form of defenseman Rasmus Dahlin. As I mentioned, in this version of my offseason projections, I have the Sabres cashing in on their league-best 18.5 percent odds of landing the top pick in the draft.
Dahlin is the exact defenseman they need to begin to turn around a position that has plagued them for a few years. With the addition of Carlson as well, the Sabres could have plugged their biggest hole.
This roster as I’ve built it leaves the Sabres with $2.9 million in cap space with an $80 million salary cap. The roster will consist of 13 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders.
Here’s a full recap of the lineup:
Athanasiou - Eichel - Reinhart
CJ Smith - Mittelstadt - Okposo
Hagelin - O’Reilly - Baptiste
Rodrigues - Malone - Wilson
Pominville
Scandella - Carlson
Dahlin - Ristolainen
Nelson - Guhle
Beaulieu
Ullmark - Bernier

Smith is probably a reach at that spot,
but i don’t have a huge issue with it
If he’s not ready,
There’s still Rodrigues, O’Regan, Nylander, Oglevie, Fasching & Olofsson who could be reasonably given a chance at a “top9” role
Biggest issues i see though...
Can we trade for Anthanasiou?
And Can we sign Carlson?
And do we actually win the lotto?
IF we do all 3 of those things...
then we can have a pretty good team NEXT year
If any of those 3 don’t happen,
then we still have some holes that need filling |

Unless the Bills move up to 5 and then trade it to the Giants at 2
But that will cost a ton |

If the Bills are trying to get to #2, not sure they are, then it will obviously be before then. |

You and I are on the same page, we have been since this debate about moving up started.
For the record I don't think McCarron is the guy, he is not Jimmy G or he would have been able to beat out Dalton - Stripes77
Exactly
That’s why i can’t imagine the Bills see him as anything other than a placeholder
It is interesting that I’ve seen Mayfield slipping to us at 12
And now there’s talk of Rosen falling
I’d like trading to 8 or 9 for Rosen A LOT more than going up to #2 (obviously)
It’s gonna be an interesting draft
That’s for sure |

Depends on what happens with Allen
If the Browns take him at 1 and the Giants take Barkley or Chubb then the Jets have to take Darnold
That leaves Mayfield and Rosen there after 4 so then there are teams that will either take their non QB guy and teams that would like to add a few picks and move back.
IF (big IF) those two are on the board around 7 or 8 I would absolutely move up to take one especially if they didn't have to give up pick 22. Pick 12 a first and a 3rd to get to 8 sounds good to me. |

Lamar Jackson will be a top 5-10 surprise IMO.
I could see Miami or AZ moving up for him - sbroads24
And he’ll be a bust if they don’t let him sit for at least a year
He’s got to many issues to work out to start right away
*unless they want Tyrod-like production with more INTs |

This is surprising coming from Mr. We can fit everyone under our cap
It's 1 year, and he's retired - sbroads24
BIG difference between fitting ROR or Kane,
who actually produce,
under our Cap
As opposed to u advocating to pay a guy 5.6mil for an expected (in your words) 10-12goals
That’s just dumb |

That chart is over 20 years old. Different game, draft picks are more valuable. Trading to move up for QB’s even more costly. - Fattony1187
Huh?
If you're using draft picks to get draft picks then there's no change.
Moving from 12 to 10, I have no idea why they'd do that now that's an at the draft if someone falls thing, costs a lot less than moving from 5 to 3.
There will always be leverage. If you know a team's intentions you can use that to get more from them. QB's are irrelevant, let's say GB wanted to move up into the top 5, they're obviously not drafting a QB, but Barkley more than likely. Their intentions are clear, the team will use that as leverage to jack up the price. |

So you mean before anyone knew he was this good?
When he was a mid-first round pick that you are so against trading for?
This is an amazing turn of events - sbroads24
No...
i mean AFTER he was drafted
BEFORE his ROY season
That’s what PROSPECT means...
duh
Maybe go back & read where i wrote,
“McAvoy like PROSPECT”
Not SPECIFICALLY McAvoy...
just used the comparison between him & Girgensons to show that a mid-1st is a total crapshoot when talking about what the value of trading for that pick is actually worth
