I would trade sam or ROR right now for him
- gerbe75pts

They would want Risto, and even then I wouldnt be opposed.

Chris Peters

@chrismpeters
Only American prospect I've seen in the last 10 years with a release and shot as good as Oliver Wahlstrom's is Auston Matthews. Kid can score from anywhere. Has USA up 2-1 on assist from Jack Hughes.

I just think Marner has risen the play of his line, whereas Nylander clearly benefits from playing with Matthews. Interesting how since Matthews has been invisible, he has too. Marner has been the best leafs player by far this series.

If Montreal is so giddy for O'Reilly then tell them to send Galchenyuk and Mete over.

Not in this series. Marner has been good. Nylander has been invisible
- jcragcrumple

Ville Leino was un(frank)ingstoppable in the playoffs, Nylander has been the better player for them overall. Marner is severely overrated. People, with a straight face, have tried to say he's better than Eichel.

He's definitely been better this series, and is younger than Nylander

On this site, yes.

Leafman, Leafguy, whatever said that Eichel was the 4th or 5th best forward in that draft. Someone on our thread has it as their location. I can't remember who.

And it's been said other times as well.

Sure, I know what you meant, after a fashion, because I speak Gerbe. But you do stuff like that all the time, and it's quite hard to understand you at times.

This series, Marner has been better. This year, not even close. Nylander has had way tougher minutes against tougher competition and still creates scoring chances of his own (yes completely independent from matthews).

Marner's pretty good, but if you deployed him the way babcock uses Nylander he'd be labeled a bust.

It's a nice home-town story and stuff, but when they say he might develop into a 4th line center, I'm keeping my expectations very low. There's really no reason to project the kid in the NHL next year.
- Lunaion

Craig Rivet constantly talks about how Malone is going to be the perfect fourth line center for the Sabres.
