Pretty impressive what the Leafs have done. Everybody had them completely done last week. - mdw7413
Do you think they get it done back in Boston? |

Tough to say now. They got a (frank)load of confidence right now. Still think the B's are the favorite but would not surprise me to see the Leafs finish a pretty incredible comeback |

I had PITT WSH TBL TOR in the West I had ANA NSH MIN VGK.
Could get a clean sweep in the East and 2/2 in the West. Not bad. |

I think it depends on length of deal and dollars. Grabner definitely had a comfort zone on NY, possibly due to style of play and somewhat to usage. As a third liner with his speed and penalty killing ability, I would have no issue having him back, especially since his value and price point likely declined with his struggles in NJ. - airjan23
Jan, it's hard to understand why some are against bringing back Grabner. I based that earlier comment on both, his now likely reduced overall cost, as you had also reiterated here, in addition to how at least we both can see the Rangers need for him in specialty roles. He would be ideal as a 3rd line winger and penalty killer, and as one you would want out there to close a 1 goal lead out in the game's final minute.
If he were not re-signed if available and interested in returning here, where his contributions were well worth his dollar value, those who would agree with that decision, will only complain once the new season begins. That's when they will notice in key, a gaping hole in key on the penalty kill, and equally so with his missing speed, as was the case for about the last 1/4 of the 2017/18 season. |

With you as Tommy the "TANKER" in thinking you are the Hockey Buzz site's, "KNOW IT ALL" on everything, you should never have the need to refer to any other source for an answer pertaining to anything.
But I just checked your personally owned site to find out what your own answer there was to your own question here. I researched those details at:

On a very sad Monday in Toronto, due to the afternoon terrorist type tragedy that occurred there & also seen once too often around the world, Leafs fans hope their team's Game 6 emotional win at home will result in the same this time around in a deciding Game 7 in Boston.
The pressure will be 100% all on the Bruins, with Leafs' fans hoping for some redemption against the Bruins from 2013. Their fans can't forget them blowing that 3 goal lead in the 3rd period's final 10 minutes in that deciding game won in O.T. by the Bruins at home, after tying the game at 4-4 with around 1:00 left in regulation, with the goalie pulled for the extra skater.
With the tightness of Game 6, should Game 7's score be tied in the final 10 minutes of the 3rd, or even advance to O.T., it wouldn't surprise me if the series winning goal in either case, be of a "fluke" nature, or even more sadly, come as the result of a goalie's mishap. Leafs fans & the city of Toronto can use that redemption to also ease a tiny bit of the tragic pain it experienced on Monday.

I thought that the Bruins would be in on McDonagh first as well, prior to Nash if he were still available later. Just think how that decision will look should they lose Game 7 to Toronto at home.
Their acquisition of Nash might make them feel how we did for ages after they stole our young "Pastarnak" from us back then in uprising star, Rick Middleton in the 1970's, due to Espo's demand of, "get me Ken Hodge", to have again as his line mate, despite him now being the worn out version. |

to think, if Bruins get eliminated tomorrow, to acquire Nash and Holden, they gave us
2018 1st rounder
2018 3rd rounder
Ryan Lindren
Ryan Spooner
Rob O'Gara
all to play 7 more games than we did

If so, I gather you mean the overall 26th pick instead of the 30th one.
Also, what are your feelings, Jim, on re-signing Grabner at a likely lower price than first thought overall (salary & term), should he likely reach free agency? I posed that thought first earlier in the blog, with only Jan agreeing, and I believe two others commenting as "NO". |

yeah, I just mean the 4 teams in the conference final get the last 4 picks of the first round no matter where they finished, so if Toronto makes it, Tampa and Boston's picks move up for us.
I'm fine with Grabner coming back if it isn't too expensive
I also think AV going to get a job immediately and Grabner will most likely go there though |

Maybe that is our redemption for stupidly trading Middleton "EVEN UP" for Hodge, right after the 1976 season, in what still ranks for me as their worst trade made dating back to the 1970's in those Rangers - Bruins rivalry years.
Lindgren could be a surprise force for us alone, of those 5 assets acquired. |

I can't believe how anyone here would not want Grabner back if the price were more cap fitting than first expected, based on the success he had in his roles played here, and that he had stated he both enjoyed his stay here, and would want to return again if the situation would possibly arise. Those who don't will have said the opposite once the games begin next season, should that same hole exist like it did without him around for the final 1/4 of this season. |

Not based on what Dolan has stated in likely his first ever fully sensible hockey comment, in wanting a coach here that can DEVELOP young players. That requires patience as well, much greater so than "madness" when the younger (& older) players make a mistake.
It looks for now with who has only been relieved of NHL coaching duties thus far, that they will go the collegiate route, a la Herb Brooks nearly 4 decades ago. That would be with either Quinn or Montgomery, unless O'Keefe of the minor league's Marlies gets back into the picture. |

I would definitely take Grabner back but I have to believe that he now views the Rangers differently without AV. Maybe that does not matter tho. If the price is right than I would gladly like to see him on the 4th line.
However, I have a suspicion that we will see a free agent market the like of which baseball just went through. Many free agents will be left unsigned because teams will have the thoughts of allowing their younger guys to get a shot first. |

Loved his passion and no BS attitude. Didn't like the system he employed here. I get why he did it but man did it get boring. |
