I have requested ManVan bookmarks this - CanuckDon
by using the word doubt, I leave myself wiggle room. I rarely make posts of absolute
Although, heading into last season I said I could only guarantee Vancouver would finish ahead of Colorado and Detroit, and nearly went 0/2 thanks to a tiebreaker |

I think it’s pretty safe to say that Juolevi, Sautner and McEneny will all be on the Canucks roster next season. Time to trade Tanev and Hutton. |

McEneny? He barely played this season due to injury. |

Archibald is in my lineup but he doesn’t make this list
He’s 2 months younger than Tanev |

Hallam says don't overhype Pettersson, "Let him grow into it, he is a difference maker but still need to be physically stronger. It's tougher in NHL to get scoring chances than in our league." #Canucks - LeftCoaster
I noticed Pettersson got a lot of PP points, he played the point on the PP on bigger ice, which gave him a lot of time and space to do the things he did, he will not get that time and space here. I think he should spend the year in Utica to learn the North American game. |

No offence, but the whole “North American” game thing is a crock of poop. Not one team Canada has had to learn the “European” game before a tournament, and I would say Canada has fared pretty well in international events over the years. |

One of the potential advantages of playing in Europe for younger guys is the fewer number of games played. Allows more time to practice and train for added strength. Higher number of games in NHL and AHL plus travel makes it hard for some to keep on weight.
If Pettersson doesn't bulk up enough over the summer and struggles with the more physical NHL game in pre-season, then going back to SHL on loan may be a viable option. He’s obviously skilled enough so there may not be any need for him to play in the AHL to develop a North American game. He may just need another year to prepare his body for a long NHL career.

I think it is a factor, but the degree of which depends on each player.
A guy like Dahlen, who hasnt shown any fear of taking pucks to the net and get engaged physically, will be fine. Perimeter guys who pick spots/openings need to adjust to the lack of them. Those backside PP guys move a lot more looking for lanes than they do on the bigger ice |

You mean like Boeser, and Laine? Great hockey players find ways, the few extra feet won’t be a factor. |

But Laine is 6'5 210. not 170 |

Boeser played on NA size rinks and I wouldnt call Laine a perimeter player.
I am not making these assumptions of Pettersson, but we have all seen enough players come over to know that there is some adjustment that exists. Some overcome it quick, some take a while and some never do |

So? Does his weight have anything to do with finding soft spots in the middle of the ice?
Against guys like Bergeron any attacking player I see going to have trouble getting quality chances, but there are enough guys like Gagner playing C in the league for smart players to generate offence. |

Laine doesn’t generate most of his chances by bullrushing the net |
