catching up.
I had JV making the team.
Most had him firmly pegged as a bust iirc. - dbot
I think for a 6th overall pick you can certainly lean towards him still being a "bust" of a player. Doesn't mean he won't be a useful NHL player, hopefully a 20 goal 20 assist kind of guy, hopefully. |

I guess we have different definitions of bust then.
To me, Yak is a bust.

You can pick up a base caravan brand new for about $24k, so there's that option because used are so cheap.
Parts are also plentiful and cheap. - golfingsince
Save your money & only pay for premium gas & get an early 2000 BMW X5. $5-6k max or cheaper if it checks out great. Has all the comforts & safety & balls u need. |

Bust is too early to call til the team around him are not the craps as a whole. Wait a bit. |

You can still be a great young player on a crap team, see Boeser and Barzal for examples. |

Bust for a 4th overall pick!! Again, still young and could be a productive NHL'er given time. Just can't seem to put it all together at the NHL level for some reason. I don't watch him as much as I watch Virtanen obviously so I don't really know his hockey IQ level, Virtanen's is LOW!! |

Different players, center vs winger, pure goal scorer vs complete center. Both generational players. Actually the real definition of the term, which is widely over-used. |

I think its more low confidence than hockey IQ. He has some really nice passes and plays...it's there...just needs to find it.

People keep labelling players based on draft position/round. It makes more sense to compare the players to their own unique draft class. Especially players drafted right before and after them

He's one kid I would accept taking a flyer on, he's got all the tools and he can skate at what I'd consider an NHL level for today's game, he's got NHL size and he can grow a wicked beard.
Virtanen has all the tools but no tool box, he's a dumbass, probably why Benning likes him so much |

Yeah I agree, in the first round a bust should be labelled relative to the players chosen around him.
When you look at the players chosen after virtanen.
The players chosen before...... well that's a different story. |

I donโt think Jake has all the tools. His puck handling is very suspect. |
