Salo on Juolevi, "He had a really good year, he improved in the areas he needed, like in the defensive zone. He had a great playoff, he carried the team after we lost a key defenseman. He took the team on his shoulders, we were really happy with his developmen - VANTEL
Hopefully makes the Canucks next year, he's still only 19 I think, turning 20. Yup turns 20 May 5th. |

I do as well but I doubt all 3 get drafted ahead of him. |

Defenseman Olli Juolevi is not Utica bound, he will join the Finnish national team tomorrow. #Canucks
Salo on Petrus Palmu : "He was a strong part of our team, had a lot of points. He is a smaller guy but he goes into the tough areas and is a pest to play against, he will be in the #Canucks lineup someday." |

That was a great value pick, I loved last years draft. I wish it happened like that more often.
Palmu was an overager, but still, a great value pick. Turns 21 in July. |

I'd be pretty ecstatic if JB added something like a 2nd and a later pick this summer and continued on a roll like last year.

42 points in 62 games during his draft year, probably should have warranted a 6th round picks anyways. |

Agreed.
I can see Benning favoring Dobson as he seems to be the safest pick with regards to his size and skating ability. |

Big strong stride... accurate slapper and a great wrister. D play is really really strong. I'm not sure Benning takes him at 6 if the 4 forwards I expect to go ahead of the #6 are taken. I like him a lot though.

I think he is going to try and load up on 2019 picks and make a splash when the draft is in Vancouver. |

For good reason, Hextall is trying to be both competitive and rebuild through the draft, something he's being successful at.
Benning on the other hand has done one decently and the other pathetically. |

I think the word on the street is the new owner coming in and axing Francis from GM rubbed a lot of people the wrong way including Peters |

Must be a bit of a gong show there from an ownership standpoint. The new owner is suppose to be really hands on.
Francis will move on next imo. He's a good/decent GM. |

I mean the guy drafted or traded for a half the lineup. He inherited some good players but accumulated talent/picks like nobody's business. If only...
