I really don't think anything is going to be different as long as Snow remains employed by the Islanders. I have less-than-zero faith in them doing the right thing. - eichiefs9

Let's hope Garth is totally gone. Still think having someone like Lou brought in is a very good thing even if Garth stays.

How long have I been beating that dead horse? Garth Snow, your New York Islanders/Seattle ????'s GM until 2050.
MY TURN! Garth will be the GM for a lot longer than you'd like him to be. - Isleshockeyman
I think they'll hire a new GM and kick that (frank)face up to President of Hockey Ops or whatever, but (and we'll probably never actually know) if he has any sort of control over things or the new GM is required to answer to him in every way...it's pointless.

Exactly. If you're L&M, why do it then? Why kick him upstairs where he can still control the team? To appease the fans? Would they think that we're that brain dead as to think that would be fine? Asinine! We'll see what they do in a couple months after the top ufa's are off the market and JT signs elsewhere.
*Edit-I still say he'll remain GM. God, I truly hope I'm wrong on that.
Maybe now that a few teams are out of the playoffs the Isles will hire a GM and move snow but I really think he will be our gm again. I really hope I'm wrong here

The longer it goes the better the chances are he stays. If they were waiting to have a canidate to bring in and say hey jt look a breath of fresh air then the next few days are the time to do it.

These next few days are big. I never expected Lou to be hired today. It's going to take some time if he is the target. Fitzgerald should be interviewed even if Ledecky has interest in Lou.

I don't know, there's gotta be something. Maybe they know Wang is Snow's boy and they're trying to stay on good terms with their minority partner? Maybe they're illiquid and they don't actually have the money to buy him out? Maybe Snow has a cousin that is an oral surgeon and is going to hook Ledecky up with a cupcake deal on getting that gaping hole filled with rusty rock-candy fixed?
I, for one, won't be buying "hey guys look! shiny new toy at GM!" as anything other than complete and total cowardice towards removing a cancer like Snow from the organization.

In a perfect world, Lamoriello would be the President and Fitzgerald would be hired as the GM. Let Lou oversee things for the new guy while he learns the ropes.
edit: I didn't think I had to say it, but just in case...in that same perfect world Snow would be stripped naked and thrown into an incinerator while Wang watched.

This works for me chief, but I have to think Chris would be the GM? Lou would be probably best as POHO as he is probably not the same as Devils Lou, but I'll take Lou in any role.

Toronto needs to do exit interviews and see what they are doing as they have 3 guys that could be in gm spot. We will see what isles do but nothing is the safe bet

I have to think Shanny is not going to hold onto Lou especially since he has other people that could be GM. It's just not going to happen as quickly as we want. I do think Lou would take the job if the Isles offered. The real question is will Ledecky be smart enough to offer? Wonder if Chris has talked to Lou about anything?

I think it's a pretty safe bet that they won't make any changes. Maybe they'll do another listening tour so all the other team can tell them Snow is great and they shouldn't do anything.

Going to take a lot for Ledecky to keep things as is after that press conference but we cannot rule anything out.
