JFC, Neuvy spends more time with surgeons than Joan Rivers did. - BiggE
It gets better, after careful consideration he is changing trainers and not going back home, but staying in Canada instead. Nothing to worry about with goal tending next season, bridge is established to Hart |

i know JT is better than vorachek but it almost seems likr a lateral move. if we sign JT we basically have to trade jake and besides we alrrady habe what looks to be bonifide 1c and 2c. getting rid of a top winger (where we dont have depth) seems like it will hurt more than help. plus JT and Jake put up similair point totals. While i would love to see him in orange and black im not sure it makes sense unless a trade of jake could bring back at least a first, a high end prospect and a solid (think 45 pt) winger - bulet13
The reason I'd go for Tavares is because he's an elite player, and instantly becomes your top-line center. Strength down the middle is more important to me that strength on the wings. I'm not saying you need to dump Jake, but if I had the choice of Tavares and the return on Jake (mid-round 1st and mid-6 winger) vs. Jake, I'll take the former all day. |

I fully expect Hart to come into camp next year, outplay everyone in attendance, have a fantastic preseason, possible murder Hakstol, and be rewarded with a full season in the AHL with no recalls. |

i think Every GM in the league is going to "go for" JT. and someone will overpay (unless it's Toronto, and then they'll get hooked up).
Hexy will do his due diligence, as many have said, and they'll end up signing Nash for a few years, and maybe try and upgrade either goal or 3C. probably can't/won't do both. |

Don't forget Stollie who I think has played maybe 3 games between Reading and LV this year is surely good to go.

Giroux was limited to one goal -- an important one, as he opened the scoring in Game 5 -- and two assists in the playoff series against Pittsburgh. His overall career playoff mark remains impressive, however, at 65 points (24g, 41a) in 69 games. - "Bill Meltzer, NHL.com"
Seems a little disingenuous to post 65 point in 69 games without mentioning that since 2013 he's at 4 points in 12 games. Two very rough series in a row, separated by two seasons.

Finding some pictures of rival GMs having sex with farm animals and then trading both Weise and Lehtera to that team for a 3rd round pick would be a good start. - BiggE

If you have a shot at Tavares you take it. Even if its to drive up the price on anyone else getting him. I'm thinking like Forsberg and Roenick... If you have to get rid of Simmonds to get someone younger and a better player then you do it.
If anyone says anything about centers I will ask you to look at our last opponent... Crosby, Malkin, Brassard..... I could totally see them picking up Tavares and moving Frost over to wing.

Here is my thing though. If they get Tavares then I would be ok holding onto Simmonds. I would move Voracek then. I think for Voracek you can get a top 9 winger to insert into your lineup.

i realize Evander Kane is an enigma, but from a hockey sense, he's exactly what this team needs. a legit 25 goal scoring shoot first winger. if they don't get Tavares, and they want to spend bank, that's who they should target. i'm not saying they NEED to spend money (but they kinda should) - eshake
They do need to spend money but they need to spend it on a #3 center . . . . unless they add a winger and move Giroux back to the middle. |

Couturier is on a #3 center deal
I think isles will retain Tavares...they have a lot of nice young pieces, picks, and a 1 2 punch along with barzal is probably enough to sell him on staying |

JT will resign in NY as they got the new Casino and Track revamp $$...
His contract will give him a % of the casino/track rake for life.
At least that's how I would resign.
Money from degenerate gamblers for life priceless.
It would be worth dragging Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 40 minutes. |

again, i don't see a Kane in our pipeline. what does he get? 6.5? 7? - eshake
I would be blown away if Hextall signed Evander Kane. One of the first words out of his mouth when giving player evaluations is "character". Kane is the antithesis of that. |

Unfortunately I agree with what you said yesterday. I think both Hextall and Hakstol will give the standard generic, safe and company line answers. If I take some positives away from the year it's that the Flyers were able to get some youngsters involved and play some key roles which was a relief if not just to avoid having to watch VDV or Nick Schultz.
I do kind of find it funny that we keep hearing what a great job coach Hakstol does with the youth and their development....like the Flyers are the only team in the NHL that have young guys producing at the NHL level. The "prospect whisperer" in my opinion deserves another shot to see if he indeed is the guy to lead the flyers into the future. I will continue to say that it's up to the GM to try get him a more talented supporting cast and a (frank)ing goalie they can rely on in 2018-19. - landros 2
I've given my opinion on what I think they should do, which would help the future of this team, the product on the ice and the future moving forward.
While I believe they should either fired Hakstol and/or trade Simmonds and Voracek for large returns. I think trading Simmonds will be the only major transformation, which I feel will change very little. Hakstol calls the shots. Giroux and Voracek are by far our two most talented players. All three names have worked together three seasons. Something has to change.
I think it will be addressed later today that Hextall has unwavering faith in Dave Hakstol and I expect Hextall to do nothing with Jake. |

Yeah I don't see Tavares coming to the Flyers. Signing him would be a mistake. Besides, the Flyers need defensive help anyway. They should sign John Carlson this off-season. - jkgrossman
That's just as bad of an idea as going after Taveras.
