Start drinking.

My plan was to work out at lunch today.

Got to the gym, fired open my gym bag: forgot to pack jorts.

So instead, I’m at St. Louis Wings - $5.50 burgers and pints on Wednesdays.

But I swear to Beatle John’s Jesus - it was an honest mistake.

I feel Auston lets up on his friend when he has a chance to paste him.

I don’t think so. In game 4 he gave him a pretty good hit at the blue line. Probably the biggest hit I’ve seen him throw this year.

Also I think Matthews shines tonight.

Leafs are doing just fine without his stone hands and non existent production.
Cap crunch is coming and the Leafs will need entry level players to fill in those spots.

31 is the new 21 in the NHL, so Komarov is actually younger than Johnsson..

I don't know..

I'm just trying to understand why Max thinks Komarov is better than Johnsson..

facts tell a different story.
leo is 31y young.
he was 7th in TOI of all forwards on the team during regular season. (15:47 ATOI)
(guess who was 3rd by the way).

he's missed 8 games this regular season.
missed 0 games last season.
now he missed 4 games in playoffs.
hardly an 'injured player'.

he's a 3rd line player that is responsible defensively (after hyman and matthews probably best in that on team still) and is very valuable on PK.

for 2mln or less, Leafs will take that any day.

- MaximusAurelius

He played majority of the season on Kadri's wing. That's why his time on the ice is so high (along with PK time, in which Matthews and some others don't ever play).

Brown is better, can skate, equally responsible defensively, has better finish and only makes 2.1 million.

Komarov can be replaced easily. EASILY as shown by Johnsson.

Komarov won't be the only player gone this off season, nor will Bozak

I haven't back read any of the comments in here yet, so not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet.

But the refs for tonight's game are Wes McCauley and Kelly Sutherland.

I think that's a good thing?

Bozak goes if Leafs sign Tavares.
If not, he'll stay.

And I think Leafs will sign Komarov as 13th FW if he takes a contract under 2mln/year.

It is likely a player like Brown/Kapanen/Johnsson will be part of a trade for the much needed topline D.

Have they called a came in the series already? If so - then they probably owe the Leafs a bunch of calls...

except of course, Andersen, who should have had a penalty for hitting Backpus in the elbow with his head.

Since I got a good insight in your profile and your 'thought process' - I understand comprehensive reading is difficult for you.

I never said I think Komarov is better.
I'm merely explaining the reasons why I think Leafs Management will possibly offer him a new contract.

good try though.

If you are paying a 13th forward 2 million then you've got problems. We already have that in Martin for 2.5 million. He could be traded too unless they want him as the 13th forward.

Komarov will be paid closer to 3 million by another team.

in that case he'll probably be gone, unless he takes a 1y contract with leafs at that price.

Martin might indeed be gone.

(btw - Martin with 4-5 minutes more a night on another team will do much better; look at Plekanec with more icetime).

No, of course not.. You just think it's better to keep the worse player, and then trade the better player...
