U conveniently leave out what we lose by trading one of the better 2C in the league
The hate is strong with you
I’ll give u that - jdfitz77
I didn't conveniently leave it out. in the role they've forced him into here, he's not one of the better 2C's in the league. I lay part of that blame on TM. |

I get that you don't agree...but how is it nuts to think that 2 guys who are paid and played to be impact players that didn't make an impact are at fault?
The two of them were literally powerplay specialists this year+some defensive work by ROR (which outside of "my eyes" we can't really prove is in fact true). - Sabresfan-365
How could Risto make an impact with a different guy next to him every other game?
Is he overplayed? Yes by about 4-5 mins a game.
Does he need someone stable back there as his partner? Yes, he needs a Mike Ramsey type guy as his partner.
IMO this team as a whole got a case of the O'Reilly's by about game 10. |

It’s like saying that OEL & Chychrun were part of the problem for Arizona
Or Kane & Toews were the problem with Chicago
And on, and on, and on
90% of our team was just brutal for the 1st half
When there’s THAT MUCH GOING WRONG...
sure, u wanna see the talented guys playing better (even Jack could’ve been better!)
But expecting them to carrry all the AHL scrubs & terrible play from basically the whole roster just isn’t realistic
Even McDavid & Draisaitl couldn’t do that this year for the Oilers |

I believe square one was trading for all these guys.
Why does the pick have to bust out? why can't it be another mittelstadt? or better? I recognize there's like a 30% chance a top 10 pick ends up being elite. But I also know there's a 100% chance ROR isn't anywhere close to that. At least in this scenario you're up 30% and 7.5 million. - Sabresfan-365
Doesn't have to be, I certainly have more faith in Botts, but historically speaking, we do not draft the best player available and we have a penchant for drafting major busts. RoR is a good 2C. If he isn't, what does Team Canada not know that we do?
Rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat. Throw it at the wall...did it stick? |

That's another way of saying he's a 2nd pair guy. I don't mind them keeping him if they can find 2 guys to play above him. I just think Risto would have to be included in a deal to land one. |

Except Mcjesus, draisaitl and OEL all have numbers indicating they drove the play, both in terms of scoring and possession, at all game states.
I don't expect them to carry a team. I expect them to carry themselves.
Someone tracked Zone entries over a 13 game span and ROR had fewer clean entries than Jordan Nolan.
Jordan (frank)ing Nolan. I don't care if it's only a 13 game sample, Nolan should not have more clean entries than your 7.5 million dollar Centre.

Team Canada knows that with the right top 10 the rest of their team is kind of irrelevant.
Edit: how much did ROR actually play for Canada? |

Or it's more of saying hey Risto I know we said we were going to cut your ice time a bit to keep you fresh but.........., it's down to you and Marco to play with 4 AHLers this year so we need you to play 30 mins and do everything back there.
Typical Buffalo fan: Run player x out of town and watch him flourish elsewhere. We as a community of fans are famous for this and it needs to end here. |

He is if u don’t ignore everything besides 5v5 scoring
Also...
i haven’t seen u guys even remotely acknowledge how Sam finally found his game once he was put on RORs wing
Seems obvious that ROR had something to do with the turnaround

I'm not ignoring it. I just don't put as much emphasis on power play scoring as you do.
Im 99% certain Sam can still be a good 50 point player without ROR. |

Is it really that hard for guys to see that Risto’s play would be better if we get Dahlin to pair with him?
No one really thinks Scandella is a legit top pair guy
And Risto has never played with a top pair guy
Or that O’Reilly would have better 5v5 numbers if he got to play with wingers that are legit?
Winnipeg’s line2 wingers are Laine & Ehlers
Yet analytics guys are mad ROR didn’t produce 5v5 with Pouliot & a brutal Okposo for half the year
Well no freaking crap
Neither would Scheiffle if he was stuck with those scrubs last year |

My thinking all along hasn't changed: if they get Dahlin, 1-2 core pieces will move. Top 3, and 1 core piece will probably move. If they pick 4th, a core piece will be moved for the right price.
Pegula's letter didn't sound like a guy who wants to burn it down, he sounded like he's done losing |

Sources: Preferring one-year deal, Dez Bryant turns down Ravens' offer
This either sounds like a great deal for us or hint hint give me a call Patriots

Unless they do some serious reworking of some contracts, they don't have the cp space. |

I really do get it
But these guys have both been pretty decent - good, with CRAP all around them
If ROR is just a PP specialist,
imagine how good his other numbers would look if he had good wingers & didn’t take every defensive zone faceoff for us

That's twice now lol
I said may have to trade him to get someone for the top pair. That is not running him out of town
You and your community can do your thing. I'm not from Buffalo so this whole buffaluck, run them out of town, need to work hard and anti russian feel that runs through the local community is pretty much your thing (lamp posts seem pretty chill though). |
