Team Canada plays guys who need help on both sides of the ice all the time though
Oh, wait.... - jdfitz77
What's lost in this conversation is that the next time you find a 2-way center who gets 20+ goals a years, and 55-60 points a year, while taking 1 penalty a year and every important draw, will cost... Wait for it... $7.5 mil a year.

Team Canada had Chris Kunitz.
Team USA picked Ryan Callahan over Phil Kessel and Pominville in the middle of his prime.
This means nothing to me - sbroads24
Changing the subject, for all the good work USA Hockey is doing at the Junior level, their evaluation at the men's best-on-best level borders on embarrassing.

Ffs, Drouin costs $5.5 - jcragcrumple
And 4 assets? Or could you not already have one you used 1 draft pick on the year before?

And for those who say ROR is overpaid...
ok
But it’s Buffalo
We are gonna have to overpay for good players
It sucks
But that’s how it is
Otherwise we just end up with guys like Pouliot who are a “deal” playing on line2

Hopefully talent like Eichel & Matthews & others knocks the older guys like Callahan, Brown, Parise even, etc off the team
Or just when captain passion feels like trying? - sbroads24
U think ROR didn’t try with us?
I’d say it was more that he was exhausted physically & mentally
Listen...
trade him for someone else that’s actually good, and I’m fine
Trade him for Foligno, Bailey & a pick that’s more likely to become Girgs or Grigorenko...

THATS MY ISSUE - jdfitz77
Yup, yup.Right there with you. We need players who can play, not Gaustad for a first. ROR can play
I remember Cullen taking a lot of faceoffs as 4C for Pitt,
while Crosby, Malkin & Kessel (all on different lines) still got plenty of icetime
It can be done
And since Botts came from Pitt,
it’s reasonable to at least think he’s considering the kind of setup i suggested - jdfitz77
It's really basic math. If Jack and Casey weigh heavily toward ozone starts, even if a 4th line center is heavy dzone, the remainder is still heavy dzone, but lower TOI.
That's just centers though, we have a terrible collection of defensive wingers.....wingers period, really.
