We don't have a goalie starter to trade. Tanev is a worth while trade chip but I am finding it harder and harder to see his value as high anymore. 101 in TOI for D this year and 142th in PPG. The league is about scoring now.

For how many years now have we seen at drafts and deadlines other defenders get traded that aren't as good and we would take that value for Tanev. I gotta believe that we hold his value quite a bit higher then other teams.

I don't disagree that most teams would want him and could use him.
i just don't think he's at his peak value any longer, due to the reasons you mentioned.

i'd rather not sell low on Tanev right now. i'd prefer to wait, cross my fingers that he can play injury free for a stretch, up his value and move him at the tdl.

i'd move Hutton, Granlund and either goalie right now, if i could.

I hearya but his value is only reduced if we give him away. There are teams out there who would have to pony up or he goes nowhere. We are not forced into moving him & IMO his value will not drop or rise.

IDK what his value is. Teams don't seem to be willing to pay what JB thinks he is worth. Teams are paying for other defenders for a price most of us would take for Tanev though.

Well for starters there is no signs of JB wishing to shop him. On the contrary actually. My Q is who would pay the most for Tanev & for me that is Snow. Top D cost & he feels the pressure IMO. If not then who does he go after & it won’t be cheap if any top D are even gettable. Dehaan has to be resigned still. That leaves Carlson & thats a tough signing most likely & he is not a shutdown D. Are there other teams eg NJD wanting to pony up? I say yes.

What it reminds me of is when Sportsnet did that big flop of a TDL production with the mysterious Eklund and him sitting in the dark getting every trade wrong. It was horrible. Sportsnet really is designed behind a horrible think tank.
