There's some extreme views on both sides of the ROR argument. I personally believe part of his inflated salary is for leading, which I don't think he is doing well enough. His even strength scoring is of a 3rd line caliber, even though his overall scoring is great for a 2nd line center. Unfortunately, most of the game, and the best teams, play at even strength. The Sabres are God awful in this category.

I personally wouldn't trade him without getting our definition of great value in return. Replacing his short term value won't be that easy, but I believe it should be a priority to make this team better in the long term.
