Yeah why do you think I suggested it?

Have heard some interesting stories out of Finland regarding Pulju too.

- BINGO!

Do tell.

I heard that he’s been told not to score too many goals because when he lets loose with a big smile it scares the women and children.

Allegedly Pakarinen has been telling folks that he was tasked with babysitting Pulju at times in Bakersfield, and that he's been getting homesick a lot, to the point that he's "training" in his home town of Oulu.

had a couple Finns tell me that he's not exactly a bright guy, and never really wanted to come to North America in the first place. Grain of salt and whatnot. Have been told that Aho would never say it, but thought that Pulju was a huge pain in the ass in Karpat.

trade for Faulk you cowards
- BINGO!

Just curious. Would you be willing to take on Sekera in a package for Faulk?

That's the only way I'd do it.

Not shocking... this is why I'd prefer if the Oil steered clear of Russians and to be honest most European players.

That second paragraph would certainly further explain why Kekelainen would've had an inside track on passing on Puljujarvi. If he can communicate with him in the mother tongue directly, then he can more clearly recognize negative verbal queues and the likes. Teams obviously have access to translators and the like, but I believe each non-English speaking player has their own translator so bias can be introduced based on that translators motivations. If I had to guess, I'd assume the Oilers aren't the sort of organization to factor that kind of stuff into the equation- what with them always being two steps behind the curve.

This having been said, it's currently hearsay so I don't plan to pay it too much mind.

Yes and completely close off access to around 25% of potential NHLers...

Needless to say I find your "solution" to be wholly ridiculous if it's from anything but the abject lack of belief in our team's management. What you ought to hope for is that the organization starts putting forth the goddam effort to improve upon their evident deficiencies in handling, developing and communicating with European players. But these are the Oilers, so we all know how that'll go.

I think the Jackets were just really high on Dubois. After watching him play alot this year I can see why, he’s really good and he’s a centre.

Oilers have had good relations with Fins in particular over the years. I’d think they would have an inside track with Kurri who could find all sorts of behind the scenes info out. I think They likely assumed he’d be gone and didn’t do a lot of homework on him. Then just ended up taking him since they thought it was a no brainer.

The Oilers usually don’t surprise anyone at the draft. It’s like they look at the top prospects list and take them in order. They would never do what Columbus did.

They were going to with Murray over yak but owner intervened. They also did with Drai over Bennett who was ranked 1st. So that’s not entirely true.

Like some guys say you have like a 10-15 minute interview with these guys at the combine to determine their personality, and they're so coached up heading into these things that it's nearly impossible to get a real read on who they are.

Maybe the Oilers should sign Komarov to look after Pulie. Good penalty killer and teammate. Also speaks multiple languages and gets along great with the young guys.

I’m sure he is looking for more money than he’d be worth in that role.

Not too surprised...I mean, he didn’t speak a lick of English. Aside from some of the poophole countries, pretty much every young person speaks some English. Maybe he was disinterested or maybe he’s Dumb. Anyway, I’m sure as time goes on he’ll get better at being in North America.

Dear god, I don't get this. There's no such dialogue going on in the Bruins forums I've looked around at and I don't see anything particularly egregious. Where are you getting this bias from?
