our D has slowly started to get a cupboard (under contract)..
two years ago we had no prospects signed worth a damn
then we signed:
nelson
antipin (probably gone though)
Guhle
borgen
pilut dude
and soon
Dahlin..
not a bad turn around for using 0 in house assets
and traded for scandella - IndianaSabresFan
Dahlin helps a lot, but yeah, we had some "better" prospects coming up. I'm still of the mind that Guhle could be the real deal. Our version of Dermott from the Leafs?

It's taken a nice and unexpected turn for sure. Nelson looked like someone they'd just let walk at the end of the season in January. Borgen was a signing risk and the draft was likely to land a forward. Even with those swinging our way, the pipeline is still a little light.

Love the Nelson contract. Cheap bottom pair defenseman.
Dudes a hero. Also made russ Brandon expendable - Boss34
Anyone can lose. But he got Mitts, Olo, Borgen and Nelson to all put pen to pad when they had other options. He also made, what I think to be, some good trades acquiring Scandella and Wilson for cheap.
I like the direction. I wasn't a fan when he was hired, thought it was another rookie GM we didn't need to give the reins...think I was wrong.
