I will have to look at the rankings but I'm pretty sure none of us wanted him

I know 365 hated the pick like the plague

I was really keyed on Nico and Vilardi , Tippett

I liked the pick. I couldn’t believe he was still there. Most mocks had him going 3-5.

I remember coming here after that draft and almost everyone here hated the pick, I feel like I was one of the only dudes willing to give the dude a chance. Now you can bet there are a few teams wishing they didn't pass him up.

so with how disgusting our Left Wing is at the moment should we be looking to bring in a guy like JVR just to add some more depth there?
- Tsyolin

too old, too expensive, pass

when the leafs don't bring him back, it should be a giant red flag

If he puts up the same ppg as Tim Connoly and played 75 games a year I would love Nylander. Don’t think he will be that good though.
- Fattony1187

He was around 6 or so

probably the push-up thing need people like him less

Everyone hated the pick

And no doubt if they had a redraft he will go third or second

That's why I think Josh Allen is going to be an awesome quarterback lol

Yeah, he had a heck of a year, but he is an older player in the OHL now. Cliff Pu had 2 good seasons after being drafted as well, but I'm not about to trade Sam for a package with Cliff Pu as a main cog.

Sam is hitting his prime and with Dahlin, Mitts, and Guhle all being on the team next year, I can see him taking a big jump, 60-65 pts, maybe more. Nothing in that Florida trade is worth losing that. If Sam had issues here like Kane in Winnipeg did or RoR in Colorado, maybe we'd have to consider the trade, but the Sabres are in the driver's seat here.

Tom wilson for sam reinhart ?

That's a horrible trade and I'm not a fan of Sam

I would rather try to trade him for a top-10 pick and get TK

Man I like you a lot but you're starting to sound like you have a tin foil hat..

Key points if they were taking
1) why did they not stop Jack from coming back?
2) why play Casey
2) why play Nelson
3) why bring up Brandon Guhle
4) why play Ullmark

It took them April 4th to clench last place but yet they were playing all their star players they could have easily missed out

I like you but don't be a tinfoil hat dude and say that the lottery was rigged for us

- gerbe75pts

It's just an opinion with the lottery. Look outside the box. The nhl is a corporation. We will probably never know.

1. You cant stop a healthy player from coming back. CBA and bonuses.
2. Casey at 19 years old and playing 5 games wasn't going to ruin this tank. We needed to sign him for this fan base. Did you think they signed him to win out?
3. Nelson needed a look. Hes a popular guy on the board but, 2 for 1.6 isn't getting us wins. He is not a difference maker enough to actually push us forward.
4. Why not have a young rookie added to this poop show of a season. Guhle needed a look. Probably earlier if we were really trying to win all season.
5.ullmark played 3 games? Went we already in last for a few weeks

Why keep lehner
Why sign Chad
Why hire 3 rookie coaches. 2 of which no one has ever heard of
Why make 1 trade in wilson if they were trying to win
Why claim nolan
Why play cristo and Griffith

The tank was real

Quickest 180 on here in a while.

I'm hopeful, but fixing a QB's mechanics very rarely ends well. Footwork especially. He's got the arm and the release, so I don't think they're going to (frank) with his throwing motion.

"The tank" went out the door when they brought Jack back
If Jack was healthy and they decided to just IR him then yeah I would consider that a tank move but they didn't ..

They've basically risked being last in the league by bringing back their franchise player

Tell me how is that tanking ?

The team was just awful that's it

And the hockey gods finally gave Buffalo some love that's it the lottery was not rigged

I was just my usual sarcastic self.

I was worried about him not being able to do a single pull-up though, and still am, an elite athlete should have no problem doing a handful of pull-ups and if he was that injured he should've just skipped it.

The way Botts was talking about his plan I liked the Casey pick. He wanted to build through AHL I thought Casey could develop there and be good. Looks like his development will be faster though

When we suck this year he can step in next year with a rebuilt team through draft and FA. Kids got an arm, just needs some pieces around him.

Guess who?

should we not be concerned by the fact that two thirds of his points came from non even strength play?

unless hes the greatest penalty killer to ever walk this earth, its alarming that a top 10 talent centre cant score EV- strength

Yeah I thought he was going to be 3 years Max coming from high school
I'm so happy he picked him he's going to be in the running for rookie of the year next year

but he's obviously not going to win we know who that's going to be

After watching his story and finding out from his coach that he had zero NFL wide receivers
I watched two games of his and his offensive line has to be the worst I've ever seen

And 16 more passes he would have been at 62%
