Didn’t Reinhart take off after playing with Ryan? - Fattony1187
Yes but I think Reinhart was just awful at center |

It's interesting to think about but out of all 3 Reinhart Risto ROR the one I want to trade the least is Reinhart unless his contract demands are crazy.
I also understand not wanting to move Risto. But what if moving ROR and Risto means you get Glachenyuk Zadina and can afford Carlson? - Stripes77
Risky though
We don’t know if Carlson would even consider coming here
And he’d probably cost at least 2mil more per year than Risto or Sam

He was at center for like 10 games though,
then was on Jack’s wing for a while |

Would be hard to wouldn't it with all the jerseys of his made with 15, but Kobe did it. - SABRES 89
Players change numbers all the time. Miro switched from 81 to 18 back to 81. Don't forget Jack was actually 41 when he started, I think Bailey and Baptiste both had different numbers too. Players get traded, so there'd be a backlog of a wrong team too. It's not like they have hundreds of thousands sitting in a warehouse somewhere, they have a fairly small amount of inventory. |

In 107 5 on 5 minutes with Evan Rodrigues he had 5 points
In 228 minutes with O’Reilly he had.....5 points
No, he didn’t make him better - sbroads24
Idk where you're getting that from.
He played 27% of his time with ROR, and had 40% of his points there

Yea I know, why are you telling me all this. I only mentioned that Eichel has had 15 and with all the jerseys printed it may be hard to change, I also know what number Eichel was wearing and also that Kobe changed his number also. I remember what Satan did also. |

At even strength, Ryan O’Reilly assisted on 1 of his goals. 1
Rodrigues assisted on 2.
Wilson assisted on 2 of Oreilly’s Goals, none of Rodrigues
Wilson and Rodrigues assisted on the same goal twice.
Wilson and O’Reilly assisted on no goals together.
He did exactly the same with the Great Evan Rodrigues as he did with O’Reilly

Can we agree that RoR has the potential to be a very good 2C and a decent 1C on some teams, but he doesnt fit into the sabres long term.
Why wouldnt we move one of our more valuable chips to get younger and faster.
regardless of your opinion on him as a player by the time we are competitive, RoR will be our 3C at best and you cannot expect to be competitive if you are paying a 3C 7.5mil - Shadman306
Uh. Maybe if this was 5 years ago. His potential has been reached. He may have a career season at some point over the next few years, but he's hit his ceiling. and that ceiling isn't more than a #2C |

Well I happen to like Erod, but you didn't respond to the facts laid out by dobber:
Despite only playing 27% of his time at even strength with ROR, he scored 40% of his even-strength points there. ROR made him a better scorer 5-on-5. To deny that is to deny fact |

Sure, but Rodrigues is what bridges the gap between playing with Larsson and playing with O’Reilly.
My point is that it’s not like Wilson went 17 games with no points with talent, and it was O’Reilly who made him better.
Wilson playing with any capable center would have made him better |

That's all I was asking for. Not that ROR is an elite 1C, but that he is capable of making a player like Wilson marginally better |

Keep McCabe. There's about 5 other guys on the d that I would gone before McCabe.
I find it interesting that many of the posters on this board that want to run McCabe out of town are bitter that the Sabres traded McNabb. McCabe and McNabb play the same style of game. God, if we trade Risto and McCabe like everyone wants, will we have any d-men that will actually hit anyone? - SabreWest

Yeah he made him better than what he was with scrubs.
I’m not calling O’Reilly a scrub. He’s a good 2-way center. Just not a guy you need to give a big role to.
If/when he ever wins a cup, it will be as a 3rd line center or some teams 3rd or 4th best winger.
He’s not a championship top 6 Center in this NHL right now IMO

Whatever, I laid out that ROR did in fact make Wilson better. For those wondering, Jack made Girgensons' year look not terrible.
Despite playing 33% of his time with Jack, he scored 75% of his even-strength points there.
The Eichel effect is real.
