Ok... but what’s your point?
Bc...
1) i LIKE Mittelstadt
I’ve only ever said ppl shouldn’t expect him to be a ppg player right away
2) very small sample size
3) not really a good stat to base anything
Just look at some of the names on the list - jdfitz77
I look deeper in the numbers and see hope
esp for players like bailey and e rod
it's not like they were getting pp time either
for casey, I thought it was decent numbers for his cup of coffee

trade ror to the wings for helm and athanasiou
the speed coming back
- homiedclown
Helm?
He’s gotta be 30-something in a 40-something year old’s body the way he’s been beat up
Athanasiou and their 1st...
now we’re having a discussion |

I feel like I’m one of the few on here who still think Bailey & Baptiste could be decent top9 guys for us |

they must prove it this fall IMO
If you can't crack this top 9 as bad as we are on lw, probably best going to europe the following season |

I don’t think he’s a 3rd liner. I think he’s a top 6 player, who scores 5 on 5 like a 3rd liner. He brings value defensively, but if he was to be a cup winning top 6 Center, he needs some serious talent around him, or he’s probably in a lesser role as a 3C on a stacked team.
It all depends I guess. All I know is we need to have a few guys better than him offensively around Eichel - sbroads24
Agreed
Exit guys like Moulson, Bogo & Pominville...
there’s $$$ to add some talent
Maybe get rid of Okposo if he bounces back this year?
Guys like Mitts & hopefully Nylander as young talent on the wings
Hopefully some of the other young guys developing into talent that helps
(Bailey, Baptiste, Olofsson, Smith, etc etc)
I know that’s probably not enough
But if we can ADD to O’Reilly, then that’s the best case for me
Bc if we move him,
then we do have a hole to fill
Now if we trade him for a “core” player,
Ok
But we do have to find a reliable guy to take up those defensive responsibilities

I’ve liked him & Abdelkader for years
Just don’t think their age really fits us
Do we reallly need more 3rd liners?
I wanna see the kids get their shot,
at least for next year
Helm is the kinda guy I’d wanna trade for as a rental when we are a playoff team |

That’s fair
Just hope they get their shot instead of being buried on line4 while Girgs & Wilson play above them |

So basically,
Reinhart & O’Reilly
for
#3 (Zadina) & Galchenyuk
Yeah, I’d do that bc of our needs at the wing
But then we better at least get someone like Bozak for defensive Center responsibilities
Unless we think E Rod can do that?
Definitely not trading Risto bc that just creates another hole on defense - jdfitz77
Are you a Montreal fan? That is a terrible trade for Buffalo.
Our need is on wing and you trade away Reinhart who plays wing and ROR can get someone like Hanifin.
If anything we should be looking at getting high end talent not trading it away.
We should be looking at something like Hanifin and Skinner for ROR+
Keep Reinhart. |

Did u guys know we are getting Rasmus freaking Dahlin?!
Hahaha
Anyways, interesting mock draft here
I know he’s a punk with some attitude issues,
but this mock has Ryan Merkley falling out of the 1st round
He’s easily a top10 talent, some say top5
Worth the gamble he can grow up at some point if he falls to us
”One of the youngest players in this draft, he’s also one of the most offensively gifted. The reigning OHL Rookie of the Year boasts elite offensive skills from the back end. Vision, passing, dynamic edges, top end speed and acceleration. His play in his own zone and decision-making without the puck is still very much a work in progress, but the right-handed defender has the makings of a dynamic point-producer. His boom or bust tag has been well earned." |

U don’t think Galchenyuk is high end talent?
#3 in his draft year, has a 30 goal season, averages over 20golas per 82gp, and he’s a better skater than Sam
Even if u like Sam a little better...
#3 (Zadina) for O’Reilly makes it worth it
Obviously there’s a Cap savings for 3 years
And Zadina is a Sniper, who also skates really well
I’m an O’Reilly supporter,
but if we can move him for a stud winger then it makes sense
As far as moving him for Hanifin (or another defenseman)...
i think our bigger hole is on the wing right now
Defense looks pretty good going forward with getting Dahlin
And there’s no way we get Hanifin AND Skinner for ROR
We might not even get ROR for Hanifin straight up
Defensemen generally have inflated value |

IMO, we are going backwards by trading for draft picks. Zadina is an unproven player. I would rather be trading for 22-25 year old NHL players
On top of that who is playing RoR's defensive role? We will be worst next year with that trade. We can be trading for players like Hanifin or Parayko with RoR. Not sure RoR can get you Hamilton out of Calgary but those are the trades I would be looking at. |

We will Regret not doing this |

That list is totally ridiculous as comparing players who played 10-80 minutes to players who logged 800+ minutes is silly. For as much as I love Casey's talent, he played all of 80 minutes. |

17 year old Dahlin has as many points in less games as 18 year old Anze Kopitar did in the SHL.
Dahlin ranks 5th in P/GP for U18 skaters in SHL history. That's including forwards.

@BHFHHockey
If Dahlin was a forward, his numbers would be *exceptional* and have him in the conversation as first overall.
Except he's not a forward, he's a blueliner. He's literally the best defender to enter an #NHLDraft EVER and it's not close. |

Thanks backhand forehand, I did some research as well:
The New Zealand All Blacks rugby GM Neil Sorensen has been quoted saying Dahlin is the best hockey player ever.
Jignesh Pandya, the president and CEO of Global Sports Ventures has been quoted on Dahlin, “ I’ve never seen anyone like him”
IHF President Dr Hassan Moustafa welcomed all representatives of Member Federations with an address: Dahlin is an elite, generational hockey player

Weber - Dahlin is pretty solid in his own end. He works on it off the ice too. He tries to make something happen, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. But again, he's 18. The game will eventually shrink down for him and he'll be that much quicker at adjusting. #Sabres

Weber - Dahlin only has one gear. Once that opening whistle sounds at practice, he just goes and he doesn't stop. It's kind of how he was brought up in the Swedish mentality and his personality. #Sabres

Weber - I talked to Bogosian and he asked me if he's the real deal. Dahlin is a great locker room guy. He's really funny, and his work ethic is contagious. This is real. The guys are extremely excited about this kid. #Sabres
I hope Bogo is equally as excited about not being a part of this team. |

Weber - the regiment these Swedish guys play under... Dahlin was playing with the pro team at 16, and still working out with the junior team. He's a tremendous worker, a great work ethic. He wants to be better and the best at whatever he does. #Sabres
