I have always liked McCabe, but was hoping Housley could have extracted much more from him this past season.

Maybe it comes in year two of the Housley era...especially if McCabe was playing hurt. A bum shoulder affects a player’s ability to play the way they want.

There were similar feelings about Foligno several years ago when he was playing with an injured shoulder, as was McCabe. After Foligno had surgery, his level of play improved significantly, especially his physicality which made him more effective.

Hopefully we see that with Jake next season.

Based solely or reading a couple of scouting reports and listening to the interview of his coach on WGR...I have been thinking Dahlin seems to have the drive and temperament I value in a Captain.
That said, maybe he could be “the Messier” to Jack.
