Those players aren't world beaters. Botts wants guys in here to fit the young base talent, age and culture wise. There's no need to trade him. We hold the cards.

It took 4 prospects and #1 draft pick to shake him loose in Colorado.

There's not excuse not to be perennial contenders for the next 10 years. Especially if we get SJ 1st next year and add 2 first round picks to the barn along with our high 2nd rounder this year. The depth is building and the prospects will have all the time they need to get NHL ready.

True. this is why I believe we should make this team, Jack's team, and give him the captaincy. In year 4, let him lead, let him call out other players who half-ass their play. We need leaders who will not let other players turn into Drew Stafford.
