Does anybody know what happens if Moulson retires?
It may be a real possibility. His cap hit is $5m, but he's only making $1.6 in real money (or something close). With his career earnings, it may not even be worth it to him to continue - jcragcrumple
Maybe the rest of his prorated signing bonus would hit us this year,
but i think that’s it
No Cap recapture or anything like that
We signed him before he was 35 |
|

|
I just looked, he gets a $1m signing bonus on July 1, then has a $2m base salary. He may collect the bonus and retire - jcragcrumple
Like I said, fairly certain we take a penalty for him doing that.

Akil Thomas please - Mentalorgasm5
Good pick, but he'll go somewhere in the 20s IMO. |

I think we get hit with a cap recapture penalty. If he goes that route, it wouldn't be such a bad thing. - Lunaion
Why? |

I agree
Moulson was a good sport getting buried last year & not complaining
It’s just a class move to give him a chance to move on
Especially since, like u point out, there’s no real financial damage to us in the process - jdfitz77
Moulson's a good sport that's not good at the sport.
He should keep his mouth shut to be paid 5 million for ZERO nhl goals last season. (14 games) |

That's what I thought. Maybe the move to send him to the Reign where he wanted to play was a goodwill gesture. "Thanks, Matt. Enjoy the year and your signing bonus, and bon voyage" |

I already have
And like i said...
a raise for Dahlin wouldn’t kick in till year FOUR
You said 2-3yrs
By the time Dahlin is due, we have a lot of $$$ off the books
Plus the Cap will keep going up
I assure you, we are “fine” - jdfitz77
I meant after 2-3 seasons....when Mittelstadt's next deal kicks in and then Dahlin.
Project it if you want. I have and it's tight.

Checked the rule, cap recapture wouldn't apply because it's only a 5 year deal.

So the question is whether it's worth it for Moulson to play a whole year in the minors riding the bus for $2m (after the signing bonus) |

move back into the first. I think he will be a steal at the end of the draft. Similar to Konecny was for the Flyers. |

I think he might be gone as well. I’d take the top available forward they have on their board. |

can we have a team of rasmusi?
we could get the call of rasmus to rasmus to rasmus for the goal....
not as good as what would have been malarchuck to anderchuck to hawerchuck.. but still good |

I assume so the defense team of Rasmus and Rasmus can either be named:
The Defense Team of Rasmus, Rasmus and Rasmus
The RasCrew
The Rasmi
The R Gang
The SweeDs - I'm retracting that because Risto is not a Swede.

Big fan of Bokk.. if his consistency improves.
I like Ty Dellandrea too. Massive riser. And that's punny. |

Or am i thinking of something else? |

Depends on what Matt wants. If he likes playing for the Reign, let him play. If team x and/or y says, if you BO Moulson we'd like to sign him, and he has interest in going to team x or y, I believe the classy thing to do is buy him out. |
