I dunno, I'm not so sure of that. The man is 75 and I'm sure he'd love to work with his son and be around his grandkids all the time. I'm not so sure he doesn't see this as a cake job for him to fade out of the NHL with. I could be entirely wrong, but it just seems like it's not totally far-fetched.
The only way (and we'll never know, so it's really not even worth discussing) that whole deal works if Snow sticks around is if Ledecky flat-out said to Snow: "Listen, I should fire you, but I'm giving you the option to save face, step back and take a reduced role, and let Lou run the operations for this team. You can take it or leave it, but if you leave it...you're out". - eichiefs9
I wish we were getting younger Lou of course but I'll gladly take him. I just think things would go very badly for Garth if he starts trouble. Lou is a legend and Garth would be pretty much finished anywhere if he takes on Lou. We have to see how this plays out. After the no experience Garth for years, I like having someone who has been a huge success. |

The question would be if Lamoriello has full-control over hockey operations or not. We'll know if this is just a BS move to appease the fan-base if he doesn't. But if he does, and they announce it, I'd start to be a lot more comfortable.
If they hire him and come out and say that Snow is still going to have control over the operations...people are going to blow their top and rightfully so. |

Like Chiefs said earlier if Lou really wants to be GM is he will be fully in charge and Snow will just hold a title. There is no way in facking hell Lou would take orders from that slob Snow |

I would think Lou would just stay with the Leafs if he did not want back in the action? I have to think the same Country Club does not stay in place if Lou takes the job. Lou I'm sure has some motivation to show the Devils he can still build a winner? |

There's no accountability here, it's basically full-pay retirement
Hell, Snow showed up to the break-up day press conference after the worst possible outcome in the most important year in recent Islanders' history wearing his (frank)ing golf clothes.
It's practically a retirement community here, the Islanders are the NHL's Florida. |

I agree we should know pretty much early on. I also agree if Garth still has full control this is a BS move. Will be interesting to see JT's reaction. |

Pretty much only hope is Lou wants this job to prove to people he still has it. I mean otherwise he could have just kept his "Advisory" role with the leafs and collected his retirement pay. |

This is what my thinking is Vukota. Lou might be coming back to the area and I'm sure he does not want to fail. |

I have to admit that i was shocked no one really brought this up. Snow and Weight were both in golf shirts. I couldn’t believe it......the epitome of lax

This has been my point about Garth and starting trouble with Lou. When has Garth shown he has a passion for this business? He shuts down right after July 2 and what has he done at the trade deadlines? |

At least weight was wearing a Isles pullover. That (frank)ing slob was wearing a black fleece with lint all over it and a green golf shirt underneath |

I mean I didn't expect them to be wearing suits to break-up day, it's kind of an informal day...but it looked like Snow and Dougie cut their 18 holes short to make it to the conference and couldn't wait to get back out and finish afterwards. |

This is my favorite. All the GM's are wearing suits and our slob is wearing a sports jacket

Yup. He's done nothing to warrant staying on in any capacity, apart from maybe having him as the the guy sitting in a dunk booth on the concourse. This isn't a situation where he's just had a couple of rough years in an otherwise stellar run. It's not like he's a great collaborator. And he's beloved by exactly no one. - UIF
There's this one guy Rmis Garth on SNY that thinks he's the cats meow. |

I've seen so much dumb poop out of this team that this is actually believable. |
