If Malkin and Ledecky are as unhappy with Snow as they appear, why not bite the bullet, pay Snow for the remaining four or five years on his deal and go in an entirely new direction?
That question is befuddling many Islander fans and many around the league. As one team executive put it not long ago: “It’s not that difficult. Either he’s your guy or he isn’t.”
Yeah, well, the Isles have a habit of struggling with the "not that difficult" stuff. Take, for example...
Weight has been on the road for several weeks, doing some amateur scouting. There are no indications that any of his coaches are in danger.
And finally,
All signs still point to Tavares heading to the five-day contact window with other clubs from June 25-30, so the Islanders will in all likelihood head to the draft floor with no idea whether their captain intends to stay or leave.
With two first rounders and a whole bunch of important roster decisions to make outside of Tavares, the strategy at the draft should be 180 degrees different depending on whether Tavares stays or goes. If the Snow and Weight stuff wasn't enough of an indication of how rudderless this entire organization is, just winging it at the draft shows they really have no plan at all, or even any ideas for a plan, for anything, from top to bottom. |

I don't really believe that Andy Graziano from SNY has sources that I am supposed to believe |

I really hope he is not believable on this one. |

Thinking the same thing - Vukota
I swear I'm going to make some cheap-ass looking blog, start writing stuff, and then start tweeting that my "sources" are/aren't hearing good/bad things about the Islanders.
I don't think Graziano is one of those bargain-basement blog idiots that totally makes stuff up, but even if he did hear that...I doubt it was from someone all that plugged in. Probably some low-level idiot that the higher-ups lie to in order to avoid leaks |

This entire situation is an embarassment at this point. I like the line of "he's either your guy or hes not your guy". Its as simple as that, and if he's your guy then thats pathetic. I'd love to know more about what ownership is doing in regards to interviewing any possible people. |

Why couldn't it have been the entire front office and executive staff that got sucked out the window of that Southwest plane? |

Until proven otherwise, it’s official: as if Snow wasn’t incompetent enough, #Isles ownership does not have any idea what they’re doing. Tavares must be so impressed. What a fiasco.

From Staple's article this morning:
It’s assumed he would take one of Snow’s two current jobs. But what if Snow isn’t so keen on letting go of either the president or GM role, even for a legend like Lamoriello whom Snow admires? If Malkin and Ledecky are as unhappy with Snow as they appear, why not bite the bullet, pay Snow for the remaining four or five years on his deal and go in an entirely new direction?

It's so (frank)ing obviously simple and these two mongoloids are gonna take 6 months to make a decision that should have taken them 6 minutes. - eichiefs9
They should have fired him right after they were mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.

They don't care about hockey, they're real estate speculators. They got their land, they'll get their arena, and they'll care fu ck-all about anything else. |

This is really ridiculous. They are pretty much packing JT's bags themselves. Why would he even talk to them at this point? |

I don't even care anymore. There isn't a shot in hell he sticks around and I'm not going get upset about it. I probably won't ever spend a penny on this team ever again. |

More and more I'm being convinced of a theory I heard that Wang gave Snow a "no fire" clause and that's why they can't can him. (And somehow Ledecky and Malkin agreed to this) It's all bizarre, and par for the course with this franchise, but, I mean, what else could this be? |

I know many have stated the NHL would not allow such a contract. It just seems something very strange going on otherwise L&M should have plenty of money to fire Garth and will have even more with Belmont and especially if they hire a quality hockey person. |

Chief's theory is the one that makes the most sense. If they don't care about the on ice product then there is no reason to buy out Snow. |
