You are seriously underestimating Garth's narcissism. He will not give up control willingly. He truly believes he's right and is the smartest person. He will fight to the end. He cannot be allowed to have any part of the Islanders.

#isles cannot talk to Lou without Toronto’s permission. So expect their to be some sort of acknowledgment of this from TO side IF true. As long as their is NO acknowledge of this... fishy

So for there to be veracity here it means TO releases him from contract OR has given him to speak to other teams. So this is the missing item right now #isles

And once again, if Lou and others fill out #isles org, expect it to be OUTSIDE of Day to Day roster leaving Garth and Weight intact in their current positions - perhaps development/org building oversight/senior advisory, etc

So... yes, where there is smoke, we know #isles org wants/needs senior oversight. So we will see what follows next. Just find lack of contract and permissions context a bit strange

I think we are ALL in agreement that #isles org NEEDS something. The biggest item I see beyond the on-ice (which I think remains static to get JT re-signed) is player development and overall hierarchy

This is where Lou excels and is a hall of fame “builder”. This is a bigger item than just being a senior advisor to another GM. And this is where I personally think what #isles are trying to get here

There's no way to know that. I for one don't believe Lou is going to have full control. This is going to be collaborative BS imo. The owners want him here if they didn't he would be gone. Since they want him here he's going to have some semblance of control. Sorry to say but everyone is fooling themselves thinking otherwise.
