to be fair last year they had the 8th best record in the ahl but the playoff format takes top 4 in division and unfortunately 4 teams in the division had top 7 records. so basically 12 teams with worse records made it over them

I had a pretty good season. There was like a two or three week majorly-deep freeze (for NY) that froze over even the biggest water so that put a damper on things. But we got out there and busted some holes in the ice and smashed a ton of Canada's. Lots of black ducks, too. They upped the limit for the first time in decades, from 1 black duck to 2. Still no bands for me. One day...

The hope is that maybe even the #isles will turn a small profit one day... but the entire project is predicated on commercial real estate. That’s where the profit is gonna come from. The #isles were the buy-in cost.
So if any of you numbskulls think Islander ticket sales are more than a fart in the wind to the end game for Scott Malkin, think again. To the extent that the #isles hire a new front office, it will be done for the long term good of the team

I dont think any of us thought they made their money selling dentures........I have no problem with these guys buying this for an investment. They are taking the risk and should see the reward. BUTTTTT, dont look us fans in the face and act like everything is going well.

My only question is when Wangs lighthouse project was denied, why was Belmont never an option. Why did it take 12 years to finally close on a building site? I dont think enough angst is put on Wang, as he did more damage to this team than anyone.

I don't think they "don't care" about the Islanders, but I also don't think that the Isles are their #1 priority or that they got the Belmont deal pushed through because Long Island is the Islanders "home". I'm not kissing any of their asses until they do what they need to.

One thing I found interesting is that Snow is listed on the Isles website as "President, GM, and Alternate Governor" with Malkin being the Governor and the other alternates being Ledecky/Wang/Art McCarthy (whoever the (frank) that is).

Wang is trash and I loathe the Islander fans that laud him as some sort of "savior" of the Islanders.

That aside, I don't think NYS was looking to building anything at the Belmont site when Wang was looking to get the LHP pushed through. I can't imagine he would have objected to it, if it were available, since he ultimately agreed to scale back the project a bit.
